When the Dallas Cowboys open the season at Cleveland on Sept. 7, Adam Jones will be allowed to play. Jones on Thursday was fully reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell because the suspended cornerback did not have any off-field transgressions since being allowed to participate in practices since June.
"It feels good man, you know, to get a second chance and I just have to take advantage of it," said Jones. "First and foremost, I don't want to let myself down, definitely my little girl down. I'm thankful for Jerry [Jones], the fans in Dallas and my teammates for believing in me. I need to keep doing what I've been doing to get reinstated, staying with myself and my teammates and staying away from those knuckleheads and just stay focused."
Jones was asked if he ever thought this day would come.
"I never thought it would take this long, but I'm just glad I'm getting another chance."
Jones, who sent Goodell a letter on Aug. 15 asking to be reinstated, will open the season as the No. 3 cornerback behind Terence Newman and Anthony Henry.
"Adam has worked hard to get to this point, but he also knows that there is still a lot of work ahead of him," said Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones. "He is fully aware of the opportunity that he has been given, and he knows that this is an ongoing process."

I dont however feel that Adam Jones is going to have much impact on that he only has one package that he is even on the feild other than relief. And i dont see him stepping up enough to take the place of either Newman or Henery. I do think that he can help us as a returner tho. I believe that there was a rumor on here a couple days ago about them not wanting to use him for that but i think they need to wake up and use what they can to improve that i even believe that it said they have 2 premeir returners but they dont want to have to use them, that doesnt make much since to me, especially with jones because he isnt going to see all that many snaps during a game to begin with, so why not use him in other ways that he can help.

He was getting burned by receivers...yeah receivers who haven't had two years off and receivers who were highly ranked after productive seasons...the depths of their depravity knows no bounds...
I am excited to see how the powers that be do decide to use him. And I do agree with the previous sentiment regarding him being unable to replace Henry or Newman...but I am glad to see that if one of them goes down we have a capable back up on the roster...
