Defensive tackle John McCargo was returned to sender. The unhapy defensive tackle was returned to the Buffalo Bills after he failed a physical, voiding a trade to the Indianapolis Colts. Bills coach Dick Jauron said the team was happy to have McCargo back. McCargo might have other ideas, though.

"I don't think anything I say is going to lead to anything positive," he said. "I talked to Chris [Jenkins, the Bills' media relations director] and he told me to tell you all that, right now, I've got nothing to say about it. Take it how it is. I don't know. Maybe one day I will."

One day, he was looking forward to starting anew with a team that wanted him. The next day, he was back with a team that felt his services were no longer needed. McCargo, the second of two first-round draft picks in 2006, fell out of favor with the Bills because of his inconsistent play. While Jauron doesn't see McCargo's return as awkward, McCargo's teammates took a different view.

The Colts voided the trade after their diagnosis revealed McCargo had a bulging disk in his back.

Wow, I was first. This is such a happy day for me. I have so many people to thank. Let's see, I first want to thank Trey for not jumping on before me. I'm sure it took alot of restraint because the Star must be feared at all times. Next, I'd like to thank that loser Dolphin fan who's life would be nothing if he didn't hold onto the belief that the only reason the Patriots have dominated the AFC East the past 15 years is because they are cheaters. He has to get the message out at all times but held back today. I look forward to hearing about it for the next 10 years. Thank you all.

Huh, they've won the division 5 years in a row, and 6 of 7. They've had one losing record since 1996 and in the 15 years won the division 8 times I believe. I'd call that dominance. They may even win this year without the best player in the league. I guess that's not dominant enough in a league with a salary cap. Name another team who has done what they have recently.

let's see, "won it 6 of the last 7" and "8 times in 15 years" that would make them 2 for 8 prior to their latest run, not too dominating.

Only team in that time to make it too the Super Bowl from the division. And prior to 02 it was a 5 team division so I'd say 2 times of 8 is pretty damn good. Plus they were a wild card team twice in those years AND only had a losing record once, Bellichick's first year. Once again, in a salary cap era that is dominant. Face it, they have dominated the AFC East for 15 years.

Does anyone actually comment about the articles here? The Colts need DT support and they obviously thought this might be it, so I think its not only disappointing to Mr. McGargo, it's also disappointing to the Colts. Wonder if there's still anyway something positive might happen from this or whether it's just wasted newsprint...

McCargo's statement may just be one of the worst versions of "No Comment" ever uttered...
Funny how one teams Doctors (Colts) can rule a player unfit to play due to a bulging disc
while the other team (Bills) puts him out on the field the next day to practice (and possibly play Sunday).
McCargo's desire and work ethic in Buffalo have been questioned,
and his trying to fit into a defensive scheme that wasn't a natural fit hasn't helped.
Does that mean McCargo should just mope and cry,
or should he MAN -UP and take this as the rude awakening that it is?
Which means getting his arse in gear and really trying to EARN a spot playing in the NFL.
Maybe he's not a fast learner (dumb?)
or he let the 1st round pick thing go to his head... (ego)
BUT, he is still young and obviously had enuff skill to be picked that early, SO...
Sounds like the kid still needs a little mentoring and tutoring...
get him to realize he can still save his career AND play a role on this team.
and if the Bills want to really be a playoff contender
their going to need that position depth later on in the season.
Bottom line: it's up to McCargo to prove he deserves to be on the field for Buffalo,
so, if he's healthy enough to do it,
    then its now or never.
P.S. do you guys really have nothing to say/comment about these topics?
aside from "patriots" "first" "gay" "dork" "retard"...
(tho i guess that is saying something).

1st of all it's not the bills fault that he sucks! 2nd, it's no ones fault that he has an injury to his disc and failed a physical, thats the NFL so for him to have a grudge against a team that didnt want to keep a suck ass player on their roster is childish- grow up, use that anger on the field and start making some tackles

It sounds to me like Buffalo was trying to dump him and hope that the Colts would miss the back problem but they didn't miss it and sent him back and voided the move. I say that is very smart of the Colts and what Mccarggo shoukld go is have the back problem fixed and go to another team next season bucasue Buffalo will be cutting him when this season is over regardless.

It's a shame. He probably could have thrived in the Colts scheme if he were healthy. The last time they made a deal like this was for "Booger" McFarland & that worked out well...Super Bowl Champs. Wish the young man good luck getting healthy.
