After the third game of the season, New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez(notes) looked to be on top of the world. He had taken the Jets to three straight wins and was being compared to the legendary Joe Namath in the Big Apple.
Now, three weeks later, Sanchez has lost three games in a row and some New Yorkers are calling for his head (or at least for head coach Rex Ryan to bench the young man). But Ryan is apparently sticking with Sanchez, according to the New York Daily News, even though Sanchez "led" the team to a loss against the seemingly hapless Buffalo Bills.
Not helping Sanchez is the fact that he leads the league in interceptions with ten and he hasn't gotten more than 172 yards in a game since the first game of the season.
Sanchez isn't being benched but folks should apparently expect Kellen Clemens(notes) to be getting more reps in practice just in case that happens soon.

As far as benching him I think they should because I think clemens is a much better Qb with alot more experience with looking at the defense and calling audibles. I few posts before mine a few people are saying Garcia is available, why would we get in the same situation we were in with testeverde. If they are going to get someone it should be VICK .

I would keep starting Sanchez if you lose you get better picks to help the roster and improve the theam. If you win, he gets to develop more on the field in a winning atmosphere and playing in big games.
Clemens isn't the answer, if he was he would've been playing a year or more ago and signing Jeff Garcia wouldn't pay any dividends for 3-4 weeks at minimum because he doesn't know the system.
