Larry Johnson moving to the Redskins?

Larry Johnson(notes) spent seven“Larry years with the Kansas City Chiefs before the team released him on November 9 for posting nasty tweets about his coach, the team's fans, and any fellas who happen to fall for other fellas. Now it's looking the Washington Redskins might be picking him up, according to the Washington Post.

At the very least, Redskins head coach Jim Zorn isn't ruling out the possibility. The Redskins are plenty used to offending folks with the name they've got and they're in need of a running back after Clinton Portis(notes) got hurt. If Portis can't play, the team will likely bring a running back onboard.

That could be Quinton Ganther(notes), who the team just released last week, or Johnson. Zorn says the team will discuss all the possibilities.

It won't change a thing at all. This guy is a loose cannon, just the type of idiot ol Danny boy would sign. I'm BOYCOTTING my own team and hoping my Redskins lose EVERY game till the little nazi Snyder gives it up.

You guy throw that "idiot" word around alot. He's not the idiot, he spoke is mind that all. The same way all you bumz do on here. He just needs a new home to play. If you think he is done then YOU ARE A IDIOT. He is still better then half the back in the NFL now. So good luck Larry Johnson, hope you land somewhere nice.

Last time I looked the Redskins are 2-6 ... KC is 1-7 .. While the Redskins are playing horrible this year they're still better than the Chiefs. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if Snyder picks him up.

If and only if the Skins give LJ another chance I hope that he takes advantage of the opportunity. He could help spell Clinton Portis who is our # 1 back this year and next and going into the draft the Skins needs can be filled by getting the depth at the O-LINE THEY NEED SO BADLY.

Wouldn't surprise me if they did. Too bad they already have backs that are more than capable of doing the job. Sellers, Betts, and Cartwright have no problem sharing the workload, but that usually means the 'skins will go ahead and sign somebody else.
Even then, everybody on the team is close to 30, so why not go out and pick up another 29 year old back that is on the downside of his career? It'll only cost $4.55 mil to pick him up for the rest of the year!
Look at everybody they've let come and go recently - TJ Duckett and Shaun Alexander are 2 that come to mind, and I'm sure there are more.
The team hasn't made any efforts to draft for the future, so who cares if they pick him up? It'll only be a stop-gap effort at best - but that is what the owner and GM do best......give the fans something that looks like effort.
Danny Boy has a stiffy for Portis, so I hope he doesn't do anything to make him mad. He only counts $9+ mil against the cap next year with all of his contract reworkings and guaranteed money deals that he's made!

He'll be good behind a decent OLine
OH and #8 - how can you say the Redskins are better than the Chiefs? The Chiefs BEAT the 'Skins this year already! The only teams the Skins beat are St Louis and TB, 2 of the worst teams in the NFL!

Another running back is not the answer - a better O-line is. Period. Fix that and a lot of other stuff cures itself.

As a Penn State and Redskins fan, I would love to see LJ play in for the 'Skins. But I can't support this now. It doesn't matter how good a running back you are if your o-line can't create holes. What makes anyone thing that LJ would be more successful than Portis?
Trade the costly vets (Moss, Randle El, Portis) and get trade picks while you still can, invest in the best o-line you can get and start Colt Brennan. I know a lot of fans are eying Colt McCoy or Tim Tebow, but look at the majority of successful QBs and few of them are first round picks.

Send him to the Choke-land Faders. he would fit in good with the rest of the misfits. Especially the coach. I bet these two would get a long nice.
