Larry Johnson(notes) spent seven
years with the Kansas City Chiefs before the team released him on November 9 for posting nasty tweets about his coach, the team's fans, and any fellas who happen to fall for other fellas. Now it's looking the Washington Redskins might be picking him up, according to the Washington Post.
At the very least, Redskins head coach Jim Zorn isn't ruling out the possibility. The Redskins are plenty used to offending folks with the name they've got and they're in need of a running back after Clinton Portis(notes) got hurt. If Portis can't play, the team will likely bring a running back onboard.
That could be Quinton Ganther(notes), who the team just released last week, or Johnson. Zorn says the team will discuss all the possibilities.

LJ just wants cash and lots of it. He could care less about winning. He is about him and if anyone wants him, well, they will find out.

He's getting everything he deserves, but I'm sure he'll land somewhere.

Even then, everybody on the team is close to 30, so why not go out and pick up another 29 year old back that is on the downside of his career? It'll only cost $4.55 mil to pick him up for the rest of the year!
Look at everybody they've let come and go recently - TJ Duckett and Shaun Alexander are 2 that come to mind, and I'm sure there are more.
The team hasn't made any efforts to draft for the future, so who cares if they pick him up? It'll only be a stop-gap effort at best - but that is what the owner and GM do best......give the fans something that looks like effort.
Danny Boy has a stiffy for Portis, so I hope he doesn't do anything to make him mad. He only counts $9+ mil against the cap next year with all of his contract reworkings and guaranteed money deals that he's made!

OH and #8 - how can you say the Redskins are better than the Chiefs? The Chiefs BEAT the 'Skins this year already! The only teams the Skins beat are St Louis and TB, 2 of the worst teams in the NFL!

Trade the costly vets (Moss, Randle El, Portis) and get trade picks while you still can, invest in the best o-line you can get and start Colt Brennan. I know a lot of fans are eying Colt McCoy or Tim Tebow, but look at the majority of successful QBs and few of them are first round picks.
