New York Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery(notes) didn't start in Monday night's loss to the Miami Dolphins due to a hamstring injury that he suffered last Thursday when he stretched out too far to catch a ball.
The plan was apparently to only play him on third downs and on plays in the end zone. He ended up playing a little more than the team had planned for him on Monday after receiver Brad Smith(notes) hurt his foot in the game. As a result, Cotchery appears likely to not play this coming Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
If Cotchery sits next week, he'll likely be replaced by David Clowney(notes). It seems likely that Cotchery will sit , particularly since the shortened week after playing on Monday night leaves him very little time to recover. Plus, the Jets can surely handle the Bills without him.

I mean c'mon, the BROWNS just beat the Bills 6-3. They completed TWO passes (only 1 to a WR) and still won the game.
I think the Jets will be ok, lol
