While there was speculation earlier this week the New York Jets might look at St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt, a source told the New York Daily News Tuesday the Jets have no interest in the veteran receiver, who has asked to be released by the Rams.
While the Jets have only one proven wide receiver — Jerricho Cotchery — the team believes strongly in the abilities of Chansi Stuckey and David Clowney, according to the Daily News.
The Jets were perceived to have an edge in obtaining Holt because his former position coach in St. Louis, Henry Ellard, is now with the Jets. The report indicated Holt's declining productivity and questions about the health of his knees may be why the Jets aren't interested.
