NFL - Sports Rumors

In an interview on WFAN radio Wednesday, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan added spice to the already intense rivalry with the New England Patriots.

"I never came here to kiss Bill Belichick's, you know, rings," Ryan said. "I came to win. Let's just put it that way. So we'll see what happens. I'm certainly not intimidated by New England or anybody else. . . ."

During the interview, Ryan was asked if he felt like the Jets needed to send a message to the Patriots. Ryan indicated there have already been squabbles behild the scenes between the two franchises.

"I think we already have sent a message to them," Ryan said. "So they can read between the lines. . . . They can figure it out. And when they come here that second week of the season, we'll see."

I'm not a Jets fan, but I will watch and hope he(Ryan) is like his dad and brings on the defense! This should be fun!

Ryan weren't you the guy who blew the game against the Pats during there perfect season by calling an ill advised timeout after your D stopped them. Win games before you open your mouth and mention anything about the Model Franchise in football. Let's see how Bart Scott plays without agruably the greatest MLB playing along side of him. Jets have no QB. Week 2 Pats 31 Jets 13. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Some of you are saying that Belichick a winner, and another says that new england is a model franchise...weren't they caught cheating? I recall them cheating to win games, so all of their wins are suspect, all the rings are ill-gotten.

This is exactly the type of swagger the Jets need, they have always been regarded as the number 2 team in the AFC East. With Mangini, it was always "we're trying to be like the Patriots" but with Ryan it's now "we're better than the Patriots." READ BETWEEN THE LINES BELICHICK!

Hmmm. Didn't the Dolphins place first in the division last year? For Ryan to specifically single out the Pats is showing disrespect to the rest of the teams in a tough division. Maybe thats a backhanded show of respect but why would any coach be intimidated by Belicheck and the Pats? Any coach is coaching his team to win! Whats to read between the lines, thats where the game is played. Shut up and play.

Pats 11-5 last year with a solid Matt Cassel and a weak secondary. Brady is back, Shawn Springs and Chung in the fold, linebacking strong. Hmmm... Pats 42 Jets 10. J-E-T-S Sorry! Sorry! Sorry!

Mike J you D-bag, the reason he single dout the Pats was because that was the question he was asked. Yeah Miami won the division with a gimic offense that will not do anything this year. Jets have good looking defense, top 3 O-lines in the league, and a coach who isn't mentally spooning Bill Belichek anymore. ( Sorry Eric ). J-E-T-S.....jets jets jets.

I hope the Jets are competitive. I am a Pats fan but I love a good rivalry. Obviously I hope we win but I love to see a good show. And for the guy wit hthose New England cheated comments. The Steelers in the 70's all admitted that they used steroids at that time, so I guess Terry Bradshaws championships are "ill-got". Come on man!! Be serious!! Anyone who plays football knows that even if you know the play on defense you still have to execute and actually cover the people!! We cheated got caught payed the penalty, but don't try to say that we didn'tearn our championships!!
