In an interview on WFAN radio Wednesday, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan added spice to the already intense rivalry with the New England Patriots.
"I never came here to kiss Bill Belichick's, you know, rings," Ryan said. "I came to win. Let's just put it that way. So we'll see what happens. I'm certainly not intimidated by New England or anybody else. . . ."
During the interview, Ryan was asked if he felt like the Jets needed to send a message to the Patriots. Ryan indicated there have already been squabbles behild the scenes between the two franchises.
"I think we already have sent a message to them," Ryan said. "So they can read between the lines. . . . They can figure it out. And when they come here that second week of the season, we'll see."
