NFL - Sports Rumors

If somehow the Buffalo Bills were to sweep their finishing gauntlet of games — Miami, the New York Jets, Denver and New England — to finish 10-6, Dick Jauron, whose career NFL record is 56-73, will have earned the right to keep coaching the Bills.

But anything less and this front office needs the courage to make a change. It can make that alleged contract extension go away, no questions asked.

Jauron did address his job security. "I always feel like I'm playing for my job," he said. "It's the nature of our business. You can say that about any game and every game."

It was a clichéd answer, but at least he acknowledged that winning is the measuring stick in pro sports. Jauron is a fine human being but the fans booing their lungs out Sunday don't really care about that.

ohhh please can him....always has been a loser.
Gives up free yards on defense with his bend but dont break, and is safe on offense with his extreme conservatism. Add the 2 up and you get jaurons career record

Next i'd like to say fire DJ because this is ridiculous. It often seems as if the Bills are simply nit ready to play. There are also a lot of questionable calls throughout the games. We need a coach who has the reputation of having his team ready to play EACH game. A coach who makes good calls throughout.
Bill Cowher has taken some time off and i'm sure is itching to get back in. This team could be a perfect fit. Lynch, Evans, Edwards, Stroud, Mcgee, Whitner. Can you imagine what a good coach could do!
If not Cowher it has to be someone tough. No more intelectuals. Marv Levy was unique and the perfect fit for that team. This team is not that team and Dick Jauron is not Marv Levy.

He's still a good coach, give him one more year. He's got a young team and switching coaches for young players can be a killer

He is brutal. Yesterday was a prime example with under 10mins to play , the bills had the ball inside the 20 yard line for 8 offensive plays and Marshawn Lynch DID NOT touch the ball
How do you justify your best player not touching the ball, especially in those conditions, with a back up qb and have racked up 136 yeards on the day
    IN-EXCUSABLE
    FIRE HIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Jauron is a joke, just like the Bills. Start 4-0, become the over-hyped media darlings as the dark horse Super Bowl pick in the AFC, and then lose 6 out of the next 8 games. Here's a fun fact - SF became the 1st west coast team to come east and win this season, in damp, cold and rainy/snowy conditions, breaking a streak of 15 games. Nice job Jauron. Oh - Lindell just missed another field goal.
I'm sure Chris Berman is waking up in a cold sweat in his sleep, saying "NOBODY circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills!!!!" How's that working out for ya these days, Chris?

young team in the playoff hunt...... fire the coach???? people are so stupid bad idea....... keeping a familier system in place insures they learn the ins and outs of the system. give him one more year..... they are on the cusp of a great team...

LA-D, you are so wrong. He has just about lost this team and does not coach to win, he does not learn from mistakes, has teams that come out flat, does not practice outside (hence losing the Buffalo advantage), he has poor coordinators, burns time outs (twice in the last 3 weeks before punting), and is just an awful game day manager. Good teacher of football, poor football coach.

You can't be serious, LA-D. I hope that you're kidding right now. JB said it above (#13) - awful coach. Jauron's a MUCH better Defensive Coordinator...that's where he belongs.

Hire Marty Schottenheimer! Yeah I know he can't win in the playoffs, but here in Buffalo we don't remember what the playoffs are. So he'll have two or three years before we remember what its like losing there.

All these comments remind me of what I heard every Monday when he was the coach in Chicago and no it will not get any better take it from someone who's seen this act before. When he left Chicago, everyone said what a great guy/human being but a lousy head coach!

He needs to go now. As do you retards who keep posting 1st!!!!!!!!!! You are so annoying. Nobody cares that your first, and alot of the time you are posting 2nd or 3rd. Just stop, you show how stupid you really are.
#12, and #15 have absolutely no idea about what they are talking about. Both of you are 100% wrong, your statements are completely rediculous.
Lynch averaging 8.4 yards per carry and ends up with only 16 rushes?? Retarded. Shouldve had 25-30 carries that game. That wouldve moved the ball better and opened up the play-action. It's obvious and yet jauron doesnt get it. Thats why he needs to get outta buffalo. TODAY!!!!!!!!

I was a backer of Jauron until yesterday. How Lynch does not touch the ball in the 4th qtr is beyond me after, even taking out the 50 yd run, was averaging over 6 yds a carry and they were only down by a touchdown. I've been patient with some of the questionable play calling this season but yesterday was a game they could've and should've won! It's too early to say whether he will be back next season or not, but the play calling better improve these last 4 games or it might be time for an overall of the entire coaching staff except special teams.

You better appreciate what you have...or mayube not.IF Jauron is gone at the end of the year, their best bet will be signing Crennel who probably is going to lose his job in Cleveland to Cowher.

i dont think he should go. we were praising him and the staff last year for the job he did with what he had and in the begining we had no problem with him when we were 4-0. so lets not kill just yet and i say 1 more year.

That was the most flaccid Dick I've ever seen. He's pretty much an "innie" at this point.
Buffalo needs to hire a coach with some stoons. Spagnuolo would be first choice. Or maybe Paul Pasqualoni. Someone...ANYONE...from the Parcells school, especially now that the other 3 AFC East teams are led by such people. That is the only way the Bills will be able to compete

Everyone who calls for Cowher to come to Buffalo is dreaming. It will NEVER happen. Ralph Wilson is cheap and doesn't want to put up the cash to get a decent coach. Williams, Mularkey, Jauron are coaches he got cheap. THAT is why the Bills havent made the playoffs in 8 (soon to be 9) seasons. Hey Ralph, how about you spend some of that $70 million you got from Toronto on a decent coach?!?!
