Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson limped off the field in the first quarter on Sunday after suffering an ankle injury, but he isn't planning on missing any time because of it.
"That's not in my DNA," Peterson said, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I'm going to try to get back as fast as I can and God willing, I'll be up and ready to run this weekend."
Vikings fans certainly hope he can make a quick return. The guy leads the league in rushing touchdowns with 11. "An X-ray on the ankle revealed no broken bones," the Pioneer Press reports. He is now "165 yards shy of breaking Robert Smith's franchise record for rushing yards (6,818)."
He'll get an MRI Monday, the paper notes. "It hurts pretty bad, but I'm thinking positive," said Peterson, the Pioneer Press reports. "That's the only thing that's going to help me. That's where my mind is at."
