NFL - Sports Rumors

“GaryYou can argue all you want down in Texas about how the Houston Texans could easily be 4-1 instead of 1-4, but the bottom line is that they aren't and because of that little fact, execs within the team's front office are apparently starting to think that head coach Gary Kubiak might not be the man for the job, according to the Houston Chronicle.

In his fourth year, Kubiak is apparently one of the longest-tenured coaches in the league. Only eight coaches have been with their teams longer and six of them have been to the Super Bowl, according to the paper. Kubiak's not close to getting to the Super Bowl.

If things don't turn around for Kubiak's squad soon, he'll likely be tossed.

Is there a need for him to finish the entire season? Give him a Greyhound ticket, let him ride the dog out of town an airline ticket would be too good for him. Last Sunday was enough, on the one yard line and couldn't score. I hate to see the team start over with a new GM and a new coaching staff, but, it's needed. Blame the owner for allowing him to stay too long.

The last time I looked at the standing, the Texans were 2-3 not 1-4. Yes, they could easily be 5-0 but it's not the coach that fumbles or throws picks with under 2 minutes left in the game.

    1. The Texans are 2-3, not 1-4
    2. No 'execs within the team's front office' are 'starting to think that head coach Gary Kubiak might not be the man for the job,' at least not in the article to which you attribute that statement.

This isn't Kubiak's fault. The Texans need players..Have one of the best WR in the game and not a QB to throw it to him. Slaton isn't used how he should be I do agree though

Let him finish the season, then RELENTLESSLY go after someone with Head Coaching experience like (#1) Bill Cower, John Gruden, Mike Holmgren or even Marty Schottenheimer! Bob McNair can afford to make any of these guys the highest paid coach in the NFL to get them here.
But I DON'T want Mike Shanahan!...I have had ENOUGH of bringing in everything ex-DENVER!

Grossman may not be a starter, but then neither is Schaub! Grossman played way better than Schaub did in preseason, so why not give him a shot? Anything to shake up this poor offensive team!!! I am a tried and true Houston football fan, but this team SUCKS!!!

Gary Kubiak may not have the greatest record as a head coach, but by far, he's not the worst head coach either. The Texans are still a work in progress. There is still a lot of pieces missing from this puzzle. First they need a franchise quraterback. Matt is not bad, but he is no Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Big Ben, or Tom Brady. There are holes on offense, defense, and special teams. These positions need upgrading for any coach to have a chance of going deep in the playoffs. I personally am looking at the Texans to keep showing improvement every season untill they have a break out year. For this year it's too early to judge Kubiak and the team. Lets see where we stand near the end of the season.

This is the most poorly written article I have ever seen. The Texans are 2-3 not 1-4, and from all indications, no one in the front office is thinking he's not the man for the job. They'll have every reason to consider dropping him at the end of the season if we don't finish above .500, but it's not being discussed yet. The article you're summarizing doesn't say that either. Pay more attention to your work...

Poor alex m, you do not know what you are talking about! Schaub is NOT learning, when you throw a flat pass under three minutes left to go and get picked off! The corner/safety read his eyes the whole way! You pound the ball with your runner on short yardage! And what's up with going for a 30 yard bomb on 4th and 1? Go back and look at the tapes my friend, and you will see WHY Gary Kubiak will not have a job by the end of this miserable season! Lets hope we can at least finish better than Bud's boys!

They've given him a chance to turn around the franchise. Although some decisions might be the fault of the ownership. I don't think anyone would mind changing leadership however at the end of the season is better. Because there are a few big name coaches available in the offseason.
I think we might have the most coach firings ever because teams want the Holmgrens, Shanahans, Cowhers, and Gruden's of the coaching world.
Unless Dallas reaches the Super Bowl, they will have a head coaching change.

What the hell does that have to do with it? I want a good coach. Kub's needs to go. And Shaub is showing he can sling the ball, as long as he stays upright.
    And Matt
Walters is killing your fantasy team??????
if your team is hurting because of walters its not killing your team, your team is already dead!!!
FIRE KUB, and get Gruden, because we all know we will not get Cower

5 it all starts with the o line we are playing with a bunch of back ups
6 get rid of schaub hes a decent qb but hes not gonna win you any games hes no peyton or romo for that fact lol

Its hard to argue with the success of the passing attack Kubiak has installed here. I think any QB would look decent in this offense, Schaub is average at best, but not bad. Kubiak has done more right than wrong, unfortunately for him Houston fans (me included) want wins NOW, and it starts at the top.... If any of those big name ex coaches came here, they would want GM and head coach duties, so Rick Smith should probably start looking for employment elsewhere...
