Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward has absolutely no fear of facing the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday night at Heinz Field. Some of the Bengals have hinted at retribution for Ward's block of rookie linebacker Keith Rivers Oct. 19, a legal hit that left Rivers with a broken jaw.

Rivers, speaking through his teeth to the Cincinnati media because his jaw was wired shut soon after he had surgery, said, "You reap what you sow. What goes around, comes around."

Bring it on, Ward all but said last night to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

"I'm not worried about it," he said. "I'm just going to play football and do what I do."

Now, the Bengals come to town. Rivers won't be playing; Ward's hit finished him for the season, much to Rivers' regret. "If I didn't go on IR, I'd do everything in my power [to play Thursday night] — shoot some cortisone in my face and go," he told the Cincinnati media. But Rivers' pals will be at Heinz Field. You might hear a little something about their plans for Ward later this week.

"I don't care what they say," Ward said.

Then, he smiled.

"Trust me, I'll be just as fired up to play them as they will be to play me."

ward is too respected by the nfl world to have something done to him. by far the best overall WR. Id like someone to name ONE wr that can block as successfully as ward. cincy would be stupid to give any cheap shots because the nfl will be watching this game closely and fines will be flying left, right, and center if something happens to ward

Grow out of it - you people are pathetic. It was a perfectly legitimate hit, and if a Cincy guy did it to a Steelers player you would be shouting for joy! Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!!

Ward's hit was just an awesome block, he's one of the best in the league at it. And what goes around comes around? Seriously? Third grade all over again. Suck it up.....that is if you can even suck anything in through a wired jaw

it would not be called american football if the players take lousy hits.. admit it, most of the viewers only watch this sport because of the hard hitting tackles the opposing D brings

the only thing ward will worry about is one of cincy upstanding citizens like chris henry stealing his wallet. i use to feel like marvin lewis would turn this team around but either he doesnt care or the front office does't care what these one man crimewaves do.

Why don't all the cincy players just put on skirts or play flag if they don't want to be hit. I have watched that hit several times and it looked okay to me.

what a little whiner that rookie is. it was a legal hit...end of "controversy".
the rest of the Cincinnati Bungholes can have it our for his all they want. he won't get hurt and the Steelers will win easily.

Was the hit legal... yes it was. Was it cheap - ABSOLUTELY!!! Keyshawn Johnson (once tagged as one of the better blocking receivers in the NFL) said there is no reason to try and take someone's head off when they are blind sided- like Ward did on this play. He would have been just as effective putting a solid block on Rivers. Pittsburgh fans are notorious for looking through their rose colored glasses. Ward will get his and I'll be the first one "SMILING" back at him

The'll be gunning for Ward!! Which of coarse means, a HUGE game for Ward!! LOL!! Every time they miss him, he will be gone for a TD.
You herd it here first!! Ward will have 3 TD's.

Time someone gave him a cheap shot - he hit someone from behind in SD game, and then you see that smile.
I would love to see Cincy knock him out.

It wouldnt even be a big deal if they were not 1 and 9. just face it, Hines is a better hitter for a WR then they have on their whole defense. Next thing you know they will still be crying about poor Carson getting hurt by another CLEAN hit in the playoffs when we won the super bowl. Just like the reds.... you both SUCK

Did Hines hit him hard? Yes. Did Hines mean to break his jaw? NO! Hines never intended to end the guys season. I don't think he is out there thinking that he is gonna break somebodys jaw.

You see the cincy bungholes need to focus on winning a game not Hines Ward. Pittsburgh is just a better team, you better play hard and you can hit who you want because the fact is after 60 min the Steelers we will be 8 and 3 and the Cincy bungholes will still be the bungholes.
