Linebacker Clark Haggans, a mainstay pass rusher for the Pittsburgh Steelers the past four seasons, is the latest free agent to visit the Cleveland Browns.

Haggans checked in on Tuesday and was to meet with team officials and coaches on Wednesday. The Browns are looking for a pass-rush complement to Kamerion Wimbley.

Haggans has spent his entire seven NFL seasons in Pittsburgh's 3-4 defense. As a starter the past four seasons, Haggans posted 25 sacks. He also had 6½ as a situational rusher in 2002. Overall, Haggans had 32½ sacks for the Steelers.

First the need at DL filled with space-eaters. Now interest in a legit rush LB that will be free to rush the passer. If the defense is not better in '08, someone needs to be fired.

Cleveland fans sure are getting ahead of themselves for next season. Lots of money being spent, but I think the most likely scenario is that Kellen Winslow and Brady Quinn become locker room cancers like Chad Johnson in Cincy and the Browns end up with a normal (for them), mediocre season. 7-9 sounds about right. Enjoy!

as a steeler fan i enjoy the offseason when the browns fans think they have a chance of winning the division or even beating the steelers. we all know who owns that division save your time and effort for the cavaliers and indians.

Fair enough, Cody, but I still say there are a few guys who are likely to cause issues in the Browns locker room. The Bungles truly are the new Raiders - maybe just younger.

I'm a Browns fan, and I'm pretty optimistic about our chances to have a good year. But as much as I hate to, I gotta agree with Lunchbox -- DGay is going to lockup another division crown for Pittsburgh. Most of Big Ben's face is still sitting in the grill of some Cadillac, but at least he can throw a sideline pass and isn't afraid to take a shot in the pocket. The Steelers have a mutant for a quarterback, but we have a 6'6" vagina. They win that one.

As a Steelers fan, you can have Haggans. He is very overrated, and is washed up. He did nothing last year, besides we have two great young linebackers waiting in the wings. That is why we did not bother to resign Haggans. Good lucks Brownies, your pathetic team needs it.
