Jerry Jones, the eternal, free-spending optimist who owns the Dallas Cowboys, ate crow outside the visiting lockerroom in the swamps of Jersey Sunday. For New York Giants fans it just doesn't get any better for them than Cowboys owner Jerry Jones standing in the visiting locker room of their stadium conceding defeat in the NFC East with half the season to go.
Noted New York Daily News columnist Gary Myers: Just 10 months ago, Jones was handing out tickets to the NFC Championship Game to his players before the Cowboys played the Giants in the divisional round. Those tickets went to waste, of course, just as Jones' team is doing this season. The Giants wanted to Bury The Boys, kick them while they are down. That's what they did with their easy 35-14 victory yesterday that put them at 7-1 and Dallas all the way back in last place in the division at 5-4.
Jones admitted, "You'd have to be quite the optimist" to think the Cowboys, the preseason Super Bowl favorite, can catch the Giants, before adding, "I don't know that I am that much of an optimist."
Now that the Giants have disposed of the Cowboys, who were inept in their third game without Tony Romo, they can start to focus on the much bigger issue: repeating in Tampa. The Cowboys must get on a run to make it as a wild card, then hope they can duplicate what the Giants did and become road warriors in the playoffs.
The Giants have demonstrated they have not fallen into the Super Bowl championship trap of coming back the next season with a lack of fire. The best they've done in the season after their three previous Super Bowl seasons was 8-8.

This team is all flash no substance.
Jerry Jones wastes all his time on Pac Man Jones and new overpriced stadiums and not enough and a decent backup QB.
I would take Witten, Barber, Ware and cut the rest.

I hope for a wild card too...but at the rate we are going...I can't emphatically (say and believe) that we are anything more than what we are...a last place team. It is what it is.

And for those of you Cowboy fans that think it's all going to get better as soon as you get all your guys get back from injury at the same time... think again. If you take a month off from your everyday joe shmoe job, it typically takes you at least a few days to get back in the flow. The way this team is coached (or not coached), don't count on these guys firing on all cylinders like it's Week 2.
With 4 losses already and road games at Washington, Pittsburgh and Philly on the horizon (not to mention home games vs the Giants and a really good defensive Ravens team), you can pretty much kiss the playoffs goodbye.
Yet another year without a playoff win... 1996... and counting!!!
At least you'll get a decent draft pick those... Oops, wait... nevermind.

Thank God I was with my man at his house this weekend...I would have probably threw my TV right out the window without fear or hesitation.
I want to know what the whole team was thinking.
