NFL - Scoop Du Jour

The New York Giants are trying to trade defensive end Osi Umenyiora(notes) and have dropped their demand for a first-round pick, according to the Baltimore Sun.

A source tells the paper that Umenyiora could be obtained for a second-round pick. The Sun notes that five teams have interest in trading for Umenyiora but none were interested in forking over a first-round pick for the 29-year-old two-time Pro Bowler.

Two of those teams, according to the Sun, are the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots.

The Sun points out that Umenyiora, who has two years left on his contract, would be a big addition for the Ravens since the team only had 27 sacks in 2010 and Umenyiora had 11½ himself for the Giants last season.
