Wide receiver Bam Childress, who has spent time between the New England Patriots' active roster and practice squad from 2005-2007, signed a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced today.

Childress spent the entire 2007 season on the practice squad. His highlight as a Patriots was Dec. 24, 2006 at Jacksonville, a game in which the Patriots clinched the AFC East title. Childress had two catches in the game, playing as a running back and receiver.

You guys need to chill out. Signing big name free agents isn't how the Eagles have worked for years. They build through the draft. They need to pick up a reciever in the first round, Childress could possibly improve the return game but I would hope the Eagles do pick up a nickel corner in free agency.

as a pats guy , it seems the eagles never take the w.r. position seriously . childress is a backup , no more . furthermore , the pats just cut the best w.r. the eagles have had in a while , donte stallworth , though that was a money thing . the owens thing was a disaster , i dont know , maybe it all comes back to mcnabb in some way .

WHY would they sign this guy?????? Spend a little money...get a top WR. Like this guy is going to make the receiving corp any better...Curtis, Brown, and now this guy...when the picked up Owens they went to the Super Bowl...coincidence...I think not!!! HAS to be better than this guy....
