Brett Favre

Brett Favre's agent, Bus Cook, has been taking calls from the New York Jets — but so far, Cook has not been working closely with the Tampa Buccaneers, according to a sources with knowledge of the two teams' dealings regarding Favre.

That might change if Jeff Garcia's injury is significant.

As it stands, though, the Jets have the more tenuous quarterback situation. Chad Pennington never has been the same since suffering a shoulder injury in 2005, and Kellen Clemens was ineffective in 10 games (eight starts) last year, throwing 10 interceptions and only five touchdown passes.

Im a Jets fan and I know in my heart that this wont happen because nothing this good happens for this team. Farve maybe old but he is better than noodle armed Pennington and the inexperienced Clemens. I hope im wrong and it does happen but it wont.

I'd have to agree with Kyle M.
Anything is better than what we have now. If this doesn't happen is Jeff George available? He would be an improvement. :O)

I have to agree with Kyle on this one. It would be great for the Jets but is a longshot at best. Favre has plenty left in the tank and deserves more respect than he is getting from most. Think how close we got with Vinnie and he was mostly crap for most of his career. Bret gives us a chance to win in the next three years. The only downside is we would inherit the retirement rumors after every season.

I have a gut feeling that no matter who winds up with this confused diva he will never be the same. Which would be sad as any admiration I had for Favre has diminished significantly. I long for those sport pro's that don't feel a need to be out there with crap like this and let their performance speak for itself during and after their career's have ended.

Brett was about as forced as a morning dump. If you are under contract, you should do the right thing. Now the packers front office is a bunch of idiots. I hope he goes to the Jets, that way he'll be someone else's problem.

Pennington will win the QB job and with an improved line and a running game he should be fine considering his high ankle sprain is better. Coles is injury free and we have 2 new tight ends as targets.

Jetsdummy is right, thinking back to when Vinny came, everyone including myself, hated the fact of him coming but he actually did a great job and got us to 2 quarters away from the SB. IF, and I do mean IF, this happens you cant deny that the Jets are a contender for the SB, but it will be a circus all year round and I hope it won't disrupt the team. Ive been a fan of the Jets for over 20 years now, I want to see them win something and if it mean with Farve i'll take it but make it happen soon so we can stop hearing about everything he does,oh wait breaking news: Brett Farve took a crap and use Charmen Ultra.

I think it would be hilarious for Favre to suffer a season ending injury while throwing his first pass of the 2008 season as an interception.
I dont want him permanently hurt, just something like a couple broken fingers on his throwing hand.
Dude should have stayed retired, he has permanently tarnished his legacy.

how can you knock a guy who plays with as much passion for the game as any quarterback who played before, during, or after. can any of u blog posters, who have never played a professional down in your life, put his shoes on. being an nfl qb is a job (one he thought he was ready to retire from, but passion led him to think otherwise)!!! No matter the case, how can you scrutinize a winner, who on and off the field has lived and played with so much heart. Brett is and always will be a competitor, if you're a natural born competitor like myself you understand that. if you're not, you're a natural born loser. (and i'm a lions fan, find your irony in that)
