Favre considering comeback?

Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, who announced his retirement last month after 17 seasons, could be looking into resuming his career with another franchise the Los Angeles Times reported. According to NFL sources, Favre's agent has quietly inquired with teams about their interest in trading for the three-time NFL most valuable player. The sources did not indicate whether Favre knew of the inquiries.

Favre, 38, has yet to give written notice of his retirement to the league or players' union, although that's neither required nor irrevocable. It's also not uncommon for players to delay in doing so, particularly if they are not in immediate need of their pension money. Agent James "Bus" Cook said he was not aware of Favre's interest in coming back from retirement.

Favre's rights still belong to the Packers, who could trade him to another team. Ted Thompson, general manager of the Packers, dismissed the report. "We don't know anything about it, and it's inconceivable," Thompson told the Associated Press.

How could anyone take this rumor seriously...did anybody actually watch his press conference? It was filled with emotion and that is enough evidence for me to say that he IS retired and will be forever

I believe it. I can't see him retiring on his last pass being a interception

When you say the name Brett Favre what comes to mind?
Lambeau, snow, the green G, the number 4....no way does he ever play for another team.
Should he change his mind on retirement it will not be with anyone but the Pack.

Total bull! He probably was joking around over a beer with his friends that Miami needed a QB, and he could replace the Marino legend there. This actually hit the news wire first!! His agent had no idea about this. No way Farve would contact any other team himself. Why would he want to tarnish his legend with the Pack? This is so dumb, Farve should sue!

i don't think it is TOTAL bull... but its an awful stretch... i don't think he'd be tarnished just because he wanted to play somewhere else... Joe montana's legacy as a 49er wasn't ruined when he went to the chiefs. Come to Miami! you know whats funny, is all the people that don't believe it are Green Bay fans... they think "no way he will betray us like that"... its a business people... i really don't believe it myself, but i definately wouldnt be surprised.

Come on Yahoo, I also heard Joe Montana is going to play for the Jets too. Oh and Marino is coming back and playing for the Falcons. And Steve Young is going back to college and playing for BYU, he has one more year of eligibility.

You obviously have just started watching football the past couple of years.
Perhaps you should take a look at the career and then come back and toss your worthless opinions
    around.

yeah, i'm not a huge packers fan or anything, but the guy played with more guts and heart than anyone i've ever seen... i mean how many straight games?? At the most mentally and physically grueling position on the field?? that defines greatness right there.

My fav quarterback, the guy I've been watching since I was a kid on another team? That would be blasphemous. Curse the L.A. Times for this rumor!!!! Besides, Favre is the face of Green Bay since old Lombardi, and I can't imagine him being anywhere else.

Last 10 years in the playoffs...
    98 - 2 picks, 79.7 rating, loss
    99 - No playoffs
    00 - No playoffs
01 - 7 picks, 67.0 rating, one win, one loss
    02 - 2 picks, 54.4 rating, loss
03 - 1 pick, 94.2 rating, one win, one loss - (ended with maybe the dumbest pass I've ever seen - the interception by Brian Dawkins)
    04 - 4 picks, 55.4 rating, loss
    05 - No playoffs
    06 - No playoffs
07 - 2 picks, 99.0 rating, game ending horrible pick to Webster
Can we please stop caring about this guy? PLEASE? Pretty please? He had a great early career, but look at the above... Let's just all agree that he hasn't been a good QB in 10 years... OK? OK, thanks.

oh yeah... 442 TD passes is overrated as well... i forgot about it... every great player has a dubious mark. like favre and his interception record. well when you attempt 8759 passes, 288 picks don't sound all that bad.
