Falcons receiver Roddy White(notes) has been sitting out of camp in order to get a contract extension and it looks like he could be sitting out for quite a while.
He apparently wants what Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald(notes) has: $40 million over four years. Or at least something close to that. White is in the last year of his contract and he's supposed to make "only" $2.28 million. Life can be so hard.
Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff apparently thought things were going pretty well before the two sides sat down Tuesday night to discuss the extension. Since then, the Falcons have supposedly taken its offer off the table and aren't sure of the next move, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
White's reps may have realized that his leverage had gotten much stronger when fellow receiver Harry Douglas(notes) suffered a knee injury in camp. But so far, that leverage hasn't gotten them anywhere.
