Eli Manning

The most talked-about quarterback in New York will take center stage Saturday night with a Super Bowl ring on his finger. And on the other side of the field will be Eli Manning.

He may be the "other" quarterback in his own town now, thanks to Favre-mania, but Manning is still the reigning Super Bowl MVP. And judging by his play this summer, and in particular in the Giants' last preseason game, he's picked up right where he left off in the playoffs last winter.

Now, with the regular-season opener just 12 days away, Manning hopes to keep his rhythm going Saturday night at Giants Stadium against Brett Favre and the Jets.

Give him time...he will be the same Eli he was mid season 07 and previous...and all of NY will be asking for him to get cut and for Coughlin to get fired...I am excited however to see how Favre handles the Girls this time around...I hope that he has revenge on his mind. I am not Jets fan but I will be rooting for them tonight...go Jets!
If it wasn't for the rest of the team especially the D and Brandon Jacobs, the Girls would not have won the SB...re-watch the game, they play it on the NFL Network frequently...Eli is not an elite QB...the Girls were just the better team that night...enjoy that ring while the shine of it lasts...

I have a feeling the giants are gonna be run heavy this year. Eli is alright but if he has to pass a lot like his bro, he is doomed.

It wasn't an excuse...it was an observation. I may be a die hard Dallas fan but I live in Giant land...therefore I can attest to how many times New York papers posted headlines about the fans wanting to see Eli benched last season and the one prior not to mention the people I have to interact with every day who are also Giants fans...no honor for very many of you...look at the Knicks and the Yanks...public scrutiny and lynchings are common place in the big apple (it is not my fault if you are not being realistic) nor does it have anything to do my team...YES, THE GIANTS WON THE SUPERBOWL! HURAH! That was 07...let us see what they do in 08...more importantly let's see how Eli does at the helm with the team you have today.

Last year when the Giants starting winning all the regulars threw it back in the face of the Giants fans that were posting about eli and coughlin being fired, how bad they sucked etc etc the good comments came from the good giants fans the BS comments came from the same fans that wanted eli's and coughlins heads...that would be the bandwagon fans..the ones that jumped off when they couldn't win and jumped back on once they started winning again, this one is a typical Yankees fan keeps his mouth shut until he thinks he's backing a winner..bandwagon fan

dallas that was the most intelligante comment i've seen you write but there was one problem the part were you said that YES, THE GIANTS WON THE SUPERBOWL! HURAH! That was 07...let us see what they do in 08 in all they are the reigning superbowl champs and they did beat dallas who are still without a playoff win this century. and as you know its not as much the fans as it is the media that creates these thought prosses with teams to cause influence. And whats diffrent with the team today? Wow the lost shockey who was a good blocker but drop almost as many passes as your great t.o. and never ran the right plays but yelled and screamed he was getting the ball well hell be were your supose to be so eli can hit you. and if you catch the ball don't spike it or yell in the tacklers face or push him after your takled. strahan retiered and said that justin tuck is better than he is and its unfair to hold him back by him staying another year. the guy had 11 sacks backing up strahan imagine what hell do as a full time starter. torber hah he only came in cause kiwi got hurt. wilson also didn't start for the giants came in after injuries set in and the raiders gave him 40 mill . come on and tell me how we could have gotten worse

Giants HAD a better team, until Osi got banged up... Let's face it, the Giants success relies on their pass-rush, No Strahan, no Osi, no chance...

Eli's QB rating last year was lower than Baltimore's Kyle Boller , yet New York so called fans think he's better than Farve ! one fluke pass in a super bowl doesn't make you great.

Did Kyle Boller start every games last year. One fluke pass you say. I guess all his passes in the playoffs were a fluk as well. Tampa, Dallas, Green Bay.
