“BrianPhiladelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook(notes) took a knee to the head during the first quarter of Monday night's victory against the Washington Redskins that knocked him out and causes some memory loss. But Eagles head coach Andy Reid is apparently not convinced that Westbrook will be out of the lineup next Sunday when his Birds take on the archrival New York Giants.

Reid is supposedly "counting on" Westbrook being there. Well, he better get a new plan because doctors seem to be doubtful that he'll be ready to put his head back into a helmet before Sunday's faceoff, according to Philly.com.

"Right now, I'm counting on he'll be there, and I know he'll want to be there, so there is a fine line there because this guy is so competitive that he wants to be out there every minute," Reid said last night.

Meanwhile, former Eagles and Philadelphia Flyers doc Art Bartolozzi told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Westbrook will not only likely miss the Giants matchup but also the one the following week against the Dallas Cowboys.

"If he was unconscious, he is probably out at least a few weeks," Bartolozzi said. "The brain is like a computer. Amnesia means the hard drive has been shaken. If you lose data, it tells you something is wrong with the computer."

How do the editors allow their reporters to post things and not spell things correctly? It didn't "causes some memory loss". It CAUSED some memory loss. Lets just pray that his brain is ok. His health is the most important part. I am a true Eagles fan but I do not want anyone to risk their life for a game.

Reid is an idiot. Does he really believe the Giants are still going to spend time putting in the defense for Westbrook because of his statements, when the guy was out cold and the Dr is on the record saying it will be a few weeks. Westbrook is a stud, but is human ,and they will not mess with a head injury with McCoy in the backfield. Reid needs to be "let go" at the end of the season and Gruden brought back to Philly. The Birds played terrible against the Raiders (the week before and after our game they got pounded), and then with the exception of a few good plays (and crazy fast Jackson) the Eagles really did not have that great of a game against the lowly Skins. The goal is the Super Bowl, not just the playoffs. Reid has had enough time to prove he is just not good enough. Time to moving on.

I loathe the Eagles but I would much rather beat them with a healthy westbrook to avoid excuses. He didnt look healthy anyway before the concussion and it didnt help they wasn't giving him the ball. So it really doesnt matta cake walk this week with seattle, Get ready boo birds doomsday in 2 weeks on prime time no less.

If the Eagles only played the Cowboys for 16 games, they would win the Super Bowl every year. The Cowboys is the only team the Eagles get up for. If they only played every week the way the play whenever they play the Cowboys; these Eagles would be winning or going to the Super Bowl on a yearly basis.
I'm really hate the Eagles, but whenever they play the Cowboys, they leave them hurting... At the end of last season, if the Eagles were playing any other team other than the Cowboys, I would have guaranteed a loss... but instead they got up and whooped Dallas...

Well Antigua i would agree both teams really get excited to play one another, But you missed me with that eagles beat the cowboys all the time statement. When you can clearly see they split the series every year in fact the all time record between the 2 favors the cowboys 54-43 until that record tilts the other way i must say the cowboys own the Eagles.

Eagles are 14-6 against the Cowgirls since 1999. Anything prior to 1999 is meaningless because it's before the Any Reid/Donovan McNabb era and has no bearing on the current team.

Well, Daniel F (post #2) and DT (post #7) at least have some appreciation for correct language usage, which is more than can be said for Mark Miller, who proves time after time that he is a poorly trained writer with no oversight by anyone at Yahoo. What a black eye for a web site that wants to be taken seriously. There are so many better sites out there for these stories where the writer actually adds some value. PFW comes to mind.

LMAO Vince S you clown and your cheerleader too John D, such a weak and pathetic argument so you pick a moment time so it helps you sleep better at night lol. Loser....The one thing thats wrong with that is your not accomplishing anything meaningful lol at all. Sure you won a couple championships and thats good you get a cool looking banner good for you and thats probably all a fan like you expects and want, But really everybody remembers super bowls lol not how many times you beat the cowboys when you where good lol. I dunno what our record was against you chumps prior to 99' but I know we was winning SUPER BOWLS when we where kicking you guys azzes not just content with a championship or beating you. I guess thats the difference between the teams enjoy mediocrity.

I love Westbrook, but since he signed hs contract he has been a shell of his former self. This injury was out of his control and it s.ucks. I rather see him sit and be able to function as human than get back in there and have something else happen. Sadly we might be looking at the end.

And lately sorry to tell ya but the 3 biggest soap operas in the league are Oakland, Skins, and well you guys. lol im still waitin for this unstoppable offense that was suppose to scare everybody now that you have Vick. lol i dont even think he has contributed to a single win or even touchdown this season. Face it kid your team is sorry they had there run (Did nothing with it) and now its time for their decline.

come on CND, what Vince said is right on.
"weak and pathetic argument so you pick a moment time so it helps you sleep better at night lol"
^That is not pathetic in the least, it is the most relevant moment in time. If anything, talking about pre-99' is pathetic. Sure superbowls are great and all, and will always be remebered, but those teams don't play anymore.
Right now, the Andy Reid \ McNabb era, the guys on the field right now, have been beating up the Cowboys.

Alight IBG I hear ya ill play your game so nothin mattas prior to 99'. So during this time period you have beatin the cowboys 14 out of 20 times thats impressive i gotta hand it to you. But then what ???? NOTHING. You have beaten the cowboys but sadly not for a SUPERBOWL. Which makes this point in time meaningless when the Reid/McNabb era is ova what do you think they gonna be remembered by..... beating a cowboys team that wasnt good during this time? or not being able to bring a superbowl back to the city. lol you say the 90's dont mean anything only because you didnt win anything lol but yet this moment in time means something because you think your team accomplished something lol give me a break come on son.

I thought the Birds were suppose to be a good team this year. They aren't doing $hit. They lose to the Raiders. HA HA HA HA. The Birds offense realy wasn't good agaisnt the Skins. Skins are a joke just like the Raiders. I hope Brian gets well. I have a lot of respect for him. I think that the G-men are going to beat the Birds. But I woud like to see the Birds beat the G-men. That way they have at least 1 loss in the NFC EAST instead of going 3-0. Cowboys should beat the Seahawks this sunday. In 2 weeks the Cowboys are going to be beating the Birds. Reveange is a sweet thing from last years loss 44-6. Birds arn't doing $hit. Birds are what 1-4 or 1-5 in the NFC Championship Game. Its been what 49 years since the Birds won a Championship let alone no Superbowl. Cowboys are 8-0 in the NFC Championship Game and 5-3 in the Superbowl. Also Cowboys own the Birds 55-44 is the all time record, Past does count just like the present. You BIrd fans like to say since Reid/McNab the Birds are 14-6 against the Cowboys. Good job, But still no Superbolw Win for the Birds with Reid/Mcnab at the helm. Cardanls beat the Birds in the NFC Championship Game last year. It is nice to make the play offs, but Winning the Superbowl is the main goal for all 32 teams. When you don't win the Superbowl, then it was a wasted year. CND I got your back bro. Lets GO COWBOYS ADN USC. P.S Sorry IBleedGreen. I have respect for you, But when people talk trash about my Cowboys, I have to tell them the truth. Hows your dirt Bike doing??? My dirt bike is in the shop. I need to get another engine.
