NFL - Sports Rumors

It was something he couldn't say last year, but Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis has proclaimed himself 100 percent healthy according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Curtis missed the beginning of last season following sports hernia surgery and then missed the post-draft minicamp because of a followup surgery in April. He was a limited participant in the last group of OTAs, saying he felt strong at the start of practices but the area would get fatigued.

"I'm 100 percent this year," Curtis said. "I'm feeling good. I should be ready to roll."

Curtis, who turns 31 next month, also is suddenly the graybeard among the wide receivers. He knows that he is not guaranteed as prominent a role as he enjoyed when he signed as a free agent 2 years ago, penciled in right away as the No. 1 wideout.

Eagles should be favored to win the division, but a "healthy Curtis" just means he'll catch four tds on the season instead of three.
BTW, labonte, Steeler fans are pretty loyal, especially when compared with other teams in other sports. Does 36 years of consecutive sellouts mean anything to you? For Carl, how exactly are the Steelers a "fraud team?" Decades of superior football resulting in more SB wins that any other franchise and spanning years of exceptional players and coaches? If the Steelers are a fraud, I'd like to see a team that isn't.

Well if your friends wanted mcnabb traded then they probably aren't real Eagles fans, since they would rather the team lose than win. Please... do tell who specifically would replace him? Anyway, Curtis being healthy is awesome. Depth is vital since we have two very young receivers and don't know how fast Maclin will grasp the system. Brown having a good offseason is good to. If he manages to show something this year we might actually be able to get something for him since I don't foresee him wanting to play backup for very long.

"...For Carl, how exactly are the Steelers a "fraud team?"..."
Well, for starters, they're based in Pittsburgh, our country's most polluted and filthy city. Then there's the fact all of their fans are like one big inbred, tooth-missing, family. Remember that kid who played the banjo in "Deliverance"? Yeah, every Steelers fan looks just like that kid. Funny thing is that city's fans don't come out of their holes until their team actually has a chance to win something. Nothing was sweeter than watching Roethlisberger and the Steelers get defensively exposed, mauled and brutalized by the Eagles early last season. The Steelers aren't anything special. But Championships and pure luck are wonderful things, aren't they?

what's the boys record against us the past ten years.
    yeah you know you're football.
just another dumba## that has some of the boys' gear and thinks their actually good.
with curtis feeling 100%, that gives us plenty of depth at wr.
i'm just worried about our rb's. i like mccoy, but he is a rookie and this is a tough offense. trying to pick up b wests' load is no easy task either.
i still believe we have a great shot for the whole thing though.

If Curtis and Brown are healthy it is a big help. They were the #1 and #2 WR's before last season's injuries. With Jackson having a great rookie year, the steal of the best WR in the draft, bar none, (Crabtree is slow for an NFL WR) and the improvement seen by Baskett and Avant last season, this is the best group to play together for the Birds since Mike Quick and Calvin Williams started.

As long as McNabb and Westbrook are healthy there is now way the Eagles miss the playoffs this time. The 'girls have no leadership, can't cover anyone, and the QB is afraid to take a hit. The Skins tried to get Cutler because even they know Campbell is in over his head. The Midgts are fine until the wind picks up (as it does every year) then Manning's girlie arm kills them in their own stadium. The Eagles secondary is improved, The Wr's are deep and talented, the O-line is packed with maulers, they had a great draft...I am very optimistic.

Trading McNabb would be a dumb move for the team period. I don't care what anyone thinks. 2 years are left on his contract. Basically that is the way the Eagles protected themselves in the long run. Think about it...if he sucks this year he gets benched again and Kevin Kolb is the starter he rides the bench for the rest of this season and gets cut or traded, or stays on next season as back-up. No matter how you look at it the Eagles covered their own asses with the raise they handed him. Either way this season he has no reason he can possibly whine about offensive talent. They added basically a younger version of Brian Westbrook in LeSean McCoy who will undoubtedly see plenty of touches as Westbrook's versatile back-up. They added Leonard Weaver who will play fullback, as well as add a punishing inside runner on short yardage and goal line type situations. They drafted Jeremy Maclin in the 1st round to add another starting reciever next to either Reggie Brown, Hank Baskett, DeSean Jackson, or Kevin Curtis. No matter who wins the starting job Jackson will be seeing plenty of time in the slot, and outside he is another x factor on this offense. They have a ton of talent now along with one of the best starting 5 o-lineman they have had in a while.

eagles still suck....just shows u how much they suck by takin a slow white boy that looked good in st. louis' air it out scheme and made him a #1.....now they got T.O. Jr, Rookie Jeremy, and Kendra's Be-atch as a wr core, and no TE, half a o-line, an (always) unhealthy westbrook w/ no depth behind him, and the main problem: that punk @$$ baby Mc [profane]g as a qb always findin someone blame but himself, they wouldnt suck if he convinced reid to get a ground game but since he's a stat whore that'll never happen and he's a bad whore at that too......we can always count on the iggles to give the deadskins a run for last place

Everything said in #27 was pretty much inaccurate. The Eagles have won the division more then any of the other teams this decade. They drafted a big time back to spell Westbrook. Curtis has good hands and is a solid 3rd or 4th option. Maclin should be a stud and has even more upside then Jackson. They drafted a TE that would have been a first round pick if he wasn't injured at Florida last season. They have 2 pro bowlers on the O-line and could be one of the best in the NFL. You say the birds suck, however they have a top 5 winning percentage over the last 10 years. You seem to be a bitter Giants fan that got smacked around in the playoffs last season. However, its a new season.
