Denver may host Alexander

The Denver Broncos have expressed some interest in free agent running back Shaun Alexander and could wind up bringing him to Denver for a visit. Denver's interest appeared to be more preliminary, yet it represented a third potential team interested in Alexander's services, joining the Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints.

Good move anyone can run in that system Orlandis Gary, Ruben Droughns are two who rushed for over 1000 yards and the plus is alexander can catch the ball out of the backfield

Why not? A guy with 9 kids and a bunch of slackers, bring in a former MVP with class, won't hurt.

The Lions should sign him to a 1-year contract for 1.5 mill and have him run tandem with Kevin Smith, just so Smith can get some veteran perspective before he takes over. Then they can dump Tatum Bell back to Denver. Watch it happen.

Perfect fit for Shaun is Denver, he needs a great line to make him look good, since he dosen't like the contact.

Well, a former MVP, make it an incentive laden contract, only pay big bucks if he has a big season, not much lost if he doesn't. Hmmmmm.

Done??? He is not done!!! The team that is smart enough to pick him up will benifit for it. He will be out to prove that he is not done and will give it all he has got. Some coash will make a wise choice!! Sure...he is not in his prime, but with something to prove it will be a good year for someone.

he-be-jezuz made a good point on the lions getting him to help out kevin smith(who could have been the steal of the draft) i know his competition wasn't great, but i've seen this kid play, and he should be really good. plus i like alexander and he would be a great mentor for him, and yeah, get rid of tatum bell. he's always been overrated. but to denver, wow! that would be a great fit also. i would like to see shaun succeed. whether it's the broncos, lions, bengals, bears, whoever(just not the steelers) shaun could be a great mentor for a future back. well i'm a brown's fan, and it reminds me of willie mcginest, he's like a mentor for kamerion wimbley, and d'qwell jackson. just watch them get better every year. just like any back would with alexander there! denver would probably be one of the better fits because of their past success with runningbacks.

Shaun Alexander was a great player...but he still has a little left in those legs to help some young players. Not to mention he is a class act. Can you name a time that alexander ever talked smack or got in a fight on the field...that's what I thought. His time may be up for us Seahawk fans, but let me say...thanks for the great years Shaun...and good luck to you. Alexander the Great # 37!

ha ha ha "...he will run people over in Denver!!!! he will run people over in Denver!!!! " The only thing he will run over is the freshly cut grass... if they do not hurt to much. He makes a feather pillows look hard. Shanny must go!!!
PS: did you see that the broncos hired a "draft specialist this week"? Now if this years draft is a bust, shanny will have someone to blame - like the gm who was fired last month. (after the fact)

Please, Mike..........quit signing everyone elses cast aways. Shaun is a lazy back, who's afraid of contact. He had a few great years, go his fat contract, and has been an " injured " whinner ever since. Unless Denver can get him for next to nothing, I hope they don't do it.

shaun alexander should think about staying retired he's not the running back he used to be, Seattle released him that was writing on the wall.

this guy can at least pop off another good year. He is a touchdown machine, as far back as Alabama. He beat out Ricky Watters, one of the unheralded all-around backs for the job, and then broke the record for TD's in a season? A knee injury hurt him, and those often take a year or two to bounce back from. Line him up, and watch him run- he'll be a great pick up for Denver.

Shaun doens't have anything left in the tank, nothing worth big bucks and will be an average runner at best...that is why Seattle CUT him and added JJ. He will end up like Emmitt when he went to the Cards...just there to fill the seats...not much on the field anymore.

Alexander is done. He WAS a great running back. Denver needs fresh and healthy guys running the ball.
I don't want to see anymore "past their prime" players coming in to Denver.
