Citing a league source, ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel would be the No.1 choice of Bill Parcells to assume the coaching reins of the Miami Dolphins.

Crennel, who was on the hot seat when the season started, has two more years remaining on his current coach with the Browns. Crennel is a long-time Parcells assistant in New York and New England.

Wow, I just don't know about him as fins coach. His current success is more a by-product of talent acquisition (Winslow, Edwards) and dumb luck (Derek Anderson started the year on the bench) so I don't know that I would put much faith in him. Besides, he's not going anywhere...

I guess Parcells is wishing that the Dolphins actually have an 0-16 season in their future!

not sure that it was dumb luck that made our team (browns) good this year. it's called good decision making on the behalf of phil savage. savage always thought anderson was "the one" while crennel was always backing frye. finally crennel had to give it up and this shows once again that savage as the GM was the best decision the browns ever made. i wouldn't count on crennel leaving cleveland depending on how the next two years go.

Sweet. Maybe rotten tuna will trade next year's 2nd rd. pick to Cleveland for him. Then they could sign Derek Anderson to an offer so Cleveland can have their 1st and 3rd picks as well. That would bring Crennel and the guy who saved his behind to Miami while giving Phil Savage 3 picks to replace the 1st rd pick they gave up for Brady Quinn. Add Bill Cowher to the mix in Cleveland and you've got a contender.

It might actually be a good idea for the browns to let him talk to Miami and get a possible draft pick out of the deal (Gruden to Tampa Bay anyone?)

Its safe to say that if anyone can get this ship on the right course, it would be Parcells. The proof is in the pudding (Giants, New England, Jets, Cowboys). No one expected the Dolphins to be in this situation, so I would give this staff one more year to get it right and if not drop the bomb on the village and start from scratch.

Two years left? Two? I understand that NFL contracts can seem more like suggestions than contracts... and I understand that Parcells has (almost) never finished out one of his contracts... but it seems pretty far fetched to think that Crennel will dump a two year contract from a team that is on the upswing. If Crennel is No. 1 on Parcell's list than it is because the list hasn't been adjusted for who is available. Perhaps Paul Brown is second on the list.

parcells does get credit for the turnarounds with the pats and jets, but the giants had george young and the 'boys had jerry jones

give cameron another year and trade down to get more draft picks. a new coach now would just bring the same results we've had.

I think its very early to start replacing a coach who hasn't gone anywhere with another coach who is currently coaching another team in the NFL. It would be different if it was another college coach. I I don't want that!! But I think the last time a coach was "traded" was Gruden. I agree Cam needs some time to see what he can do. Jimmy Johnson went though something like this with the Cowboys in his glory days. So lets just see how it plays out.

The best thing Parcells could do for the Dolphins is to arrange for them to play the Miami Heat who are equally pathetic.

Romeo Crennel is actually a really smart choice. Think about all the succsess he had in new england . Cameron is not the answer,.1-14? I don,t think so, stop wasting time and go get Crennel if he can get out of remaining 2 years with cleveland. Besides, he has already worked out well with Parcells in the past. There is no excuse for going 1-14, dump Cameron, it,s embarrasing for all dolphins fans.I don't really care, cause i'm a true pats fan, but Romeo will give you much better results.Cameron is a joke, how pitiful,1-14, the dolphins are stinking up the N.F.L.
