It hasn't been a fun year for Erik Mangini. After the excitement of getting an NFL head-coaching gig, Mangini came back to earth when he realized it was with the Cleveland Browns. He had a general manager that he didn't like George Kokinis until he recently was canned. Good news, except that it put more pressure on Mangini to deliver and save his own skin.
His 1-7 record is not helping him one bit with front-office support, fan support, and now even player support. A tipping point of sorts has been reached in which players have finally reached the comfort zone of speaking out against Mangini publicly.
Running back Jamal Lewis(notes) is apparently leading the way. He says the team works too hard in practices: "The talent is there. There's talent all over this room, young and old," he said. "At the same time, that talent's got to be able to be ready for Sunday and to be fresh for Sunday and be ready to go out and be efficient on Sunday. You can work hard as you want. You can work all day, seven days a week all the way up to Sunday in practice. But at the same time, if you're going to work like that, then maybe on Sunday you're probably not going to get what you want out of your players."
Anybody want to lay wagers that Mangini takes the advice of Lewis and goes easy on his players next week?

Yet they name only Jamal Lewis. In fact, there's nothing that even states that any other players have said a word. Just a vague "apparently, Lewis is leading the way" BS line.
Here's a novel approach- report news that is backed up by facts instead of piling on and vilifying someone based on supposition, innuendo, or hearsay (P.D. doesn't even really have actual hearsay in this case.)
Funny how there are 4 or 5 other teams in the NFL who also only have one win- and who's coaches look like disasters, yet the only one getting a daily beating from the national press is Mangini. And the reason for that is because "journalism" has turned into nothing more than monkey-see-monkey-do.
Pathetic.

Who are the playerS? They put an "s" at the end of it. This article is poorly written and misleading. Felony Cocaine guy is the only one talking right now.

Plus, in this case, the story is wrong as well. He states "after the excitement of getting an NFL head coaching gig", when this is his 2nd gig. Clearly, Miller doesn't know that (why, I don't know, maybe Miller was prepping for his SAT's).
"He had a general manager that he didn't like George Kokinis until he recently was canned."Every fan knows that Mangini requested Kokonis as GM, after Mangini was hired, and they were friends. Kokonis getting fired was a signal to Mangini, not his request.
Miller is clearly not the Chapagne of sports writers, he is the Pabst Blue Ribbon on sports writers.

Learner? Dolan? Mangini? Shapiro? Or is there some one else that is disliked more than these that I just wrote? I would ask who is the most liked but that would be James, so that is a no brain er.
