San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson(notes) missed Wednesday's practice due to a hip injury, but it appears that he practiced Thursday and will be back in action on Sunday to help take on Philadelphia Eagles, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The problem is that the future Hall of Famer who is likely to retire at season's end will be going up against one of the NFL's top run defenses and he's not at full strength. So the Chargers may end up using the five-time Pro Bowler in a limited role for this game in hope of preserving him for the rest of the year.
The guy is only 30 but his numbers have gone down significantly this season and head coach Norv Turner seems to be trusting running back Darren Sproles(notes) with a lot more of the crucial runs.
Prepare the LT highlight reels for endless playing.

There are a few reasons LT's numbers have been down
1) The Run Blocking has been atrocious, even during games such as the Den game and Pitt Game Rivers was pressured a lot so the Oline has been very poor this year and needs to get healthy starting with Pro Bowl C Nick Hardwick maybe coming back this week.
2) Norv Turners' Passing offense, Norv Loves to Air it out and abandon the run. I love Rivers being the Focal point of the offense he Is a Fantastic Quarterback but It does hurt LT And Sproles's numbers because if you are only running the ball 10-15 times per game you arent going to see 100 yard rushing games.
3)LT has missed two games and basically 3 counting the Steeler Game disaster, He has only played in 5 1/2 games(he got hurt against OAK) So Dont knock him also his jump cut has looked decent this year only problem is that he isnt getting 20-25 rushes per game so he doesnt have a shot to put up Big numbers.
So Please actually watch the chargers games before you give your opinion on them
