NFL - Sports Rumors

Kurt Warner and Edgerrin James were castoffs. The New York Giants demoted Warner midway through the 2004 season in favor of Eli Manning. James was benched earlier this season, when the Cardinals went with rookie Tim Hightower.

Sunday, those castoffs helped Arizona get to the Super Bowl.

“I want to say Arizona Cardinals and Super Bowl in the same sentence ‘cause I like the way that sounds,” said Warner, who choked up in his postgame press conference as he spoke about his wife, Brenda. Arizona Cardinals and the Super Bowl. How about it?”

Warner is not a stranger to the Super Bowl. He won a ring during his magical 1999-2000 season with the St. Louis Rams and lost to New England in 2000-2001.

James received a Super Bowl ring from Indianapolis in 2005, but it was a token of appreciation since he came to Arizona before that championship season.

This time, the 30-year-old gets his own chance.

Sunday’s NFC championship game was James’ fourth consecutive start, including all three playoff games. He rushed 11 times for 70 yards and had a key third-down reception, but he took more pleasure in questions about how he mentored Hightower than his own redemption.

“I always think the reason they don’t help somebody is they’re afraid,” James said. “I’m not worried about my skills. I know I’ve got game. I’m not even tripping. I know I can play. That makes it even better. I can show you everything but I’m still able to play. That makes it even sweeter.”

please don't call james a castoff... he wanted way too much money for indy to keep him, and he wanted to play his home games in a warmer climate.

Wow it's awesome. Cards were not supposed to beat the Falcons, the Panthers, or the Eagles, yet here they are. I love how they crammed all the bs down everyones throat. I got into it with a few fans over the season, and now I get to laugh. I knew the Defense was special, I knew the offense was special. Did I think my Cards were going to get this far? Hell no, but the way they are playing, folks should be putting money on 'em and steal that money from Vegas! Go Cards! I can't believe it, but I'm so glad you guys finaly showed (shocked!) the world!

Randall, James wanted to play his home games in a warmer climate? In Indy, he played his home games in a 72 degrees in a dome. LOL. Try to make a point with sensible facts next time. You shoulda stopped with the money issue which was definitely the real reason he left.
Where is the Philly can't get to and win the big one and McScabb, Westbroke and that overrated D are big game chokers rumor this morning Yahoo!?? Oh, I guess even Yahoo! knows that is FACT and NOT RUMOR.
This just in.... Philly still has zero, none, nada Rings!!!!! Why? Because there is justice in this world. Congrats on a another failed run and better luck next year with your aging skill position players.

NoPhlthyRing4Life, thanks for your attempt at insulting my intelligence, while rambling on like an idiot yourself. I'm from Indianapolis, I know @$%&ing well where the Colts play. Yes, you are absolutely right... the Colts used to play in the RCA Dome for their home games. But guess what!? No one actually LIVED (past tense... it's been imploded now) at the RCA Dome. So that means he actually has to exist outside in a cold climate on a regular basis... say, when he was anywhere outside of games or the indoor practice facility, maybe? Get a @$%&ing clue.
