NFL - Sports Rumors

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got pretty hammered the other day by the New Orleans Saints 38-7. The next day, the Bucs apparently demoted defensive coordinator Jim Bates, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Head coach Raheem Morris will apparently start calling the defensive plays during the game. Earlier this year - just 10 days before the season got started -- Tampa Bay sent offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski packing and named quarterbacks coach Greg Olson to call plays.

Both of these demoted or fired guys were just hired this past off-season by general manager Mark Dominik, who is in his first year on the job.

They thought Jon Gruden was a joke. Well, this entire team is a joke now. It will be years before this team does anything again. Maybe Dungy will come back a rebuild this team again. That would be awesome! They will give Morris next season to put forth an effort. Although when he does not, they will can him and make that call to Dungy!

Maybe Morris needs to be demoted, his staff. He is so far over his head, maybe another chest bump like the Dolphins game will get them going.

You have a Head Coach who is way over his head as an NFL coach. The best way to help the guy is to have experienced coordinators. First you fire the offensive coordinator at the end of preseason, and now you fire the defense coordinator! What in the world is going on with my Bucs. Who is really calling the shots for this team? The Bucs are starting to be as disjointed as the Raiders!
Every Buc fan want the Glazners to sell this team to someone who is interested in building a winner. Next the team needs an experienced head coach and experinced general manager. That is not Morris and Dominik. They both need to go. The are a lot of great coaches and GM out there to choose from. The Bucs can have their pick. Where would you want to play, Cleveland, Buffalo, Oakland, Washington DC, or Tampa Bay? HMMMM!

Anyone who thinks Dungy is going back to Tampa after how they treated him is silly.
Tampa is getting what it deserves for firing Gruden.

I can't remember at time in the last 10 years that Tampa has given up so many deep balls. Almost never did you see the BUCS get beat deep. I'm shocked that Brees didn't throw more deep balls. I was expecting to see him finish with 500 yards and another 6 TDs. It will continue to be a long painful season with more to come.

To bad Tampa thought it was the coach when it was actually the talent on the field. Grudon is a bad SOB for making a winning team with no talent.

So Does That Mean That The Bucs Will Demote The Coach as well? I think they are Still Paying Chucky so They Should Bring Him Back. It Would Be Great For The Team If The Owners and Front Office Just Admit They Were Wrong and Want Him Back To Coach They are Still Paying Him Right?

You guys that agree with going back to the TAMPA 2 are foolish. Do you not remember how Carolina ran ALL OVER THEM last year towards the end of the season? They do not have the athletes to play the Tampa 2 anymore. It is all predicated on the pressure up front. Look at the bears, their defense is horrendous. The one year they went to the Super Bowl, they had pressure up front. They have no pressure up front now, hence the a$$ kicking they are getting. Oh, and the 2 guys that the bucs drafted this year for Defense? They were not meant for a Tampa 2 scheme. The Bucs franchise is so screwed up right now. I would say holding the Saints to 38 points is actually quite impressive. They are averaging at least that every game, so what was the problem this week? Knowitalls have no clue...

Jim Bates deserves more respect than this. The defense got old quickly and he was left with nothing but unexperienced youngsters. Fire him and pay him his money. You don't deserve him Tampa Bay.
