NFL - Sports Rumors

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris isn't cutting his new guy any slack. Tight end Kellen Winslow(notes) came over to the team in the off-season in a trade of a second- and a fifth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns and Morris has been on him since before he came to camp.

Morris is apparently expecting Winslow to "step up" and be a leader, but he's not seeing it just yet. "I'm also starting to get an idea of the problems he's had," Morris told reporters. That's gotta make a guy love his new boss, right? "If he does something good, I'll tell him my bad."

#6....I believe #3 was being sarcastic referring to the idiotic comment Winslow made comparing himself to a warrior on the field after hurting another player. (The timing of the comment was also Winslowesque as it was made at the height of the Iraq war / and Afghanistani conflict).

Winslow is an exceptional talent he just needs to focus on his game and not worry about trying to be star in the media. With the QB situation in Tampa right now he will be the QB's best friend so he was worth the trade. Now there are 2 good TE's in Tampa ... can you say Double Tight with Bryant on the outside and EG and DW in the backfield. I would love to coordinate that attack. I applaud Morris for stepping up and calling Winslow out to be a leader ... Good Luck TB (knock the dirty birds off the top in ur division) as for myself i am a Lions fan. Miss the old days of watching Tampa come to Detroit and play at the Silverdome.

take a look at the games winslow missed last years with the browns. the team was actually playing better with out him. for every good play he makes there are many bad routes, penalties and missed blocks.

This clown is a shadow of the talent of his father. He is not a leader. It's all about him. He is a real cancer. I give him another year and a half in the league until he is tossed on his ear, unless Tampa Bay can find someone even stupider to take him off their hands and actually get back anything more than a box of used jocks straps for him. Can't catch, won't go across the middle. What a loser.

Winslow father was a warrior, not Junior. Both his ego and his attitude leave a lot to be desired. Morris need to stay on his butt and call him out. Lets hope the Buc did think they traded for Kellen Winlow Sr.

We (Cleveland) will miss him on the field - he has tremendous talent, and he does play hard. But he was only on the field for half of the games we paid him for, and when he's not on the field, his ego makes him a distraction. Bottom line, I'm not sorry he's playing for someone else. We needed the picks more than we needed the player.
