Browns' Rogers wants to be a Lion?

“ShaunDefensive lineman Shaun Smith was released by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday and signed with the Detroit Lions on Monday. And he's apparently happy to spill some dirty laundry about his former team.

Smith probably got his old teammate, nose tackle Shaun Rogers(notes), one of the team's defensive stars, into trouble when he spouted off on Tuesday about how his "best friend" Rogers wants to be traded back to Detroit, where he played for the first seven years of his career before being traded to the Browns early in 2008.

Rogers and new Browns coach Eric Mangini supposedly had some disagreements early this off-season but the team says those things have all been worked through. Well, welcome to a whole new set of conversations, Shaun.

1st! Shaun Smith is a 300 lb infant. He has proven over and over agian that he can't play well with other and didn't like it when he got a time out. Best of luck going from a bad team to an even worse team.

I'd love to see Rogers back in Detroit!!! Rogers, Jackson, Smith, Hill, & Avril rotating on the D-line with Simms, Foote, & Peterson at LB- that has the potential to be a great defensive unit. Lions would be in contention to win some games & maybe the division.

Shaun Rogers is a beast if he want to be here in Detroit. I say go get him and then, we will have the best D in the NFL. No one could just run up the middle as if it's the RED SEA. (The running all over us is over)

The only good thing about being a Lion this year is that no matter what you do it can't get any worse than last year........ or can it? I guess only time will tell

To all the Lion haters out there ... come seasons end you will see a totally different Lions squad from last year. Winning the Division is not out of the question ( Atlanta last year, Arizona last year, Miami last year) last to first teams pretty much. The is a revamped system, team and attitude in the D this year. Im glad to see Shaun Rogers is another teams problem now though. Go Lions.

Shaun Smith is a talentless buffoon. He runs his mouth all the time even though he sucks. He also sucker-punched Brady Quinn last year in the locker room after a verbal dispute. He's a loser. Peace.

#3 and #4 are freaking kidding me, that fat over weight can't play the whole game without maybe passing out from exhaustion is going to be the key to turning a defeated team into a divisional winner. People like you should have their comment priveleges revoked. You make everybody around you dumber, I think I lost 10 IQ points just reading what you wrote.

It would never, ever happen....But Vick would be a great fit for the Giants...Put him in the backfield for a few plays (with the deep ball/run to outside threat) and there is no way that teams can stack the box to take down Jacobs. It would be a PR nightmare in a NYC market, but it's certainly intriguing to say the least.

To SteelCityDawg: I may be a Lions fan, but at least I have class enough to not insult your team or city. If you don't have anything constructive to say about a team that you obviously don't like/follow, you shouldn't even be posting comments about that team. What? Just because your team has a few superbowl wins, you think that you're better than everybody else? Well, that is where you're wrong my friend, because the way I look at it, the fans of teams that field mediocre to poor teams almost every year, have the most class, because they never waiver their support based on how their team does year to year, and they almost never put down other teams and their fans. In my opinion, the whole Lions nation has more class than you ever will.
