NFL - Sports Rumors

“TrentThe Buffalo Bills have gone a few weeks without their starting quarterback but the word is that the team will have Trent Edwards(notes) chucking balls downfield after their bye in Week 10, a source tells Buffalo News.

Edwards is apparently recovered from the concussion he suffered during the early October game against the Arizona Cardinals. Backup Ryan Fitzpatrick(notes) would have a greater argument for holding onto the spot if he hadn't been so horrendous in a Week 8 loss to the Houston Texans. After all, he had led the team to two wins before that.

Hope that concussion didn't hurt the brain of Edwards too much. Here's a guy who graduated from Stanford and nearly took a job in the electronic design automation industry instead of the NFL.

Was this article written in 2008? Edwards was concussed vs the Jets in 2009 and Arizona in 2008. Good thing this is listed under sports rumors, the writer does not have to do any fact checking.

Mine as well get Edwards back in there. Bigger issue is the O-Line and making more of a committment to establishing the run early in games and sticking with it when you have 2 very talented backs in Lynch and Jackson. Keep the passing game as simple as possible, and start trying to win the time of possession battle, keep the already thin and banged up defense as fresh as possible the entire game.

well, concussed or not, there is a reason Edwards is the starter, just like there was a reason cincinnati didn't want Fitzpatrick anymore. He seems to have decent awareness, but he can't put the football through a hoop at 20 feet, his accuracy is terrible, which of course leads to interceptions. Although with our O-line, I smell another case of Trent Green happening to Edwards :(

the whole team is injured and they never should have just let the O-LINE fall into a bunch of rookies laps. there is NO WAY you keep fitzpatrick in. he was just a pin cushion until trent came back. this team has to find a way to stay healthy. way too many injuries every year for the past 3 years straight.

    chucking balls downfield? ha
more like chucking 3 or 4 downfield for TO to drop, then lightly tossing the rest about 10 yards or fewer downfield.
Edwards doesn't chuck any balls. He's Capt. Checkdown.

So what. The Bills' quarterbacking situation is horrible. Perhaps Lee Evans and Terrell Owens are about past their primes, but still have something in them. Everything is pretty much a mess in Buffalo. It might take a few more good draft classes from the Bills to be real contenders for anything.

It's a shame, because the Bills had established themselves as a premier franchise during the run 'n gun era. I hope they get back to 10 win seasons before too long....it'd make the entire division far more interesting.

Season is gone. Start looking for a new coach, quarterback, running back to replace lynch, wide receivers and offensive coach.

I know it is irrelevant, but I hate seeing "professionals" make idiotic mistakes. Um, Edwards did not suffer a concussion this year against the Cardinals. In fact, the Bills haven't even played the Cardinals this year..............just saying Mark Miller.....with unemployment rate over 10%, probably should be a little more careful in your output.

Speaking of quarterbacks ... if Ben Roethlisberger's version of the events at Harrahs are proven to be true and his accuser's version disproved will all the stories using his name and omitting her name be rewritten? Just wondering?
