Even in the midst of a seven-game losing streak, which included a team meltdown on national television and a bevy of penalties and mental mistakes, Brian Billick remains convinced he will return as coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

"I'm going to be back," he said when addressing the future of the team. "Now, once the season's over, we'll see what happens with regards to [the players], my staff, myself and all those other things. But right now, you only have the one mind-set."

The Baltimore Sun reported a team spokesman couldn't confirm whether Billick has been told by owner Steve Bisciotti he will come back next season, but Billick, Bisciotti and general manager Ozzie Newsome meet regularly throughout the season.
Bisciotti declined to comment Monday, keeping to his policy of not talking to the media during the season.

He'll be back...and we will lose again next year...wahoo! I'd prefer cleaning house and start a 3 year rebuilding period. We are going to be sitting here agian next year in the same spot.

he obviously has no control of his players or any hint of leadership and discipline. They do not respect him. If you dont respect your coach you will not follow him. He's got to go. Maybe Parcells can come out of retirement.

the only 5 words any ravens fan never wanted to hear from billick since 2001, "i'm going to be back." i agree wtih wes, lose billick and promote rex ryan, either that or you will lose ryan to another team and retain a losing coach in billick. even last year at 13-3, each loss was billicks own fault, especially with his playcalling in the playoffs. and even of the 13 wins, hardly any of those were to his credit

Biscotti is looking to bring in Bill Cowher?!?!?! He was offered the job in a secret meeting between the two. Keep in mind that Cowher only signed a 1 year deal with CBS. INSIDE INFORMATION. Cowher has stated he likes the city of Baltimore, has never had anything against us.

Oh yeah...the only good thing about this crappy team is troy smith. you may have won a few games if he was in. the guy scored a touchdown on his nfl debut. maybe if they changed quarterbacks, you'd have a better team.

Ray Lewis is old. Billick is losing control of the team. They never got a real QB since winning the Super Bowl (not that they had one at the time anyway), only an injured old man who can't stay healthy, and a young chump that has never been able to take advantage of his opportunities. McGahee is good, but he can't carry that team. Time to rebuild the Ravens.

Billick should have been fired years ago! He hasn't done anything since Marvin Lewis left. Baltimore needs to bring in an offensive minded guy with some balls. What I would like to see is an offense run by Troy Smith, with W Mac and Moose at tailback that likes to run and run and run and tear up defenses (similar to the DVD attack the Falcons had). Ray Lewis is getting old, but it still one of the most explosive defensive players in the league. Ed Reed has been handling the secondary basically alone this year, get him some help. Bring in a few key elements and Baltimore will be in Super Bowl contention!!

Why don't you just say "Scrap the whole team except for McGahee and Musa"
    It's a whole lot shorter.
Ryan may be gone next year also. As long as he doesn't pull another stunt like he did against the Pats.

I agree the Head Coach should be cut, when you have a Heisman Trophy winner sitting on the bench and can't scheme him into your starting line-up you have strategic problems... He is asking too much from his defense, to hold opposing teams under 10 pts, the only strategy i see is praying for the miracles, and i don't think his higher power is hearing him... Open up the play book and blitz that @$$!!! The hype sops here, Immm Out !!!
