Bengals going without Cedric Benson?

“CedricIt's looking like running back Cedric Benson(notes) won't be taking the ball at all this Sunday when his team takes on the Oakland Raiders, according to NFL.com.

Benson's hip injury kept him out of a second straight practice and the rumor is that he just won't be ready to bear a full load on Sunday. So the recent signing of Larry Johnson(notes) may come in handy pretty quickly. There is talk that Johnson has gotten a lot of repetitions in practice and will be getting the ball a fair amount this weekend if all goes as planned but the conventional wisdom has Johnson sitting well behind Bernard Scott(notes) on the depth chart.

Johnson has only had two days of practice with the team though he's apparently said that he's feeling pretty comfortable with quarterback Carson Palmer(notes).

    Me and my boy Cedrec Bensen go waaaaaaaayyyy back to da playground where I wuz waaaaaay faster than him at hittin the wholes and makin so many moves the defendas heads were spinnin around like a revolvin door. I talked to my boy de otha day and he sayin he is just fine and he is fitty-fitty to play dis weekend comin up. Dees crazy cats at yahoo dont no what dey talkin bout.

    The Raiders have no run defense so anybody could be in the backfield and get 200 and a TD, Scott is fast and Johnson can pound , Bengals will kill them , I will miss the Russell comedy tour though , you just gotta laugh at his lack of skills and Al staying with him.

    Cedric is the man!!!!! Offensive line is getting it done (esp) Kyle Cook. But Benson is the reason. HAven' had a real back since Corey Dillon (best RB of all time like it or not). Benson over LJ any day. No disrespect to LJ, but Ced does it all!!!!!! Get well soon!!
