There is apparently a loud cry going up in the Windy City by fans of the Chicago Bears. It basically consists of one unified idea: fire coach Lovie Smith.
The team is 3-3 so there are plenty of other fans around the league (Hello, fans of the St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins!) who don't know what Bears fans are so upset about. But there was an expectation for Smith to deliver more this season and his head is apparently being asked to be delivered on a plate by the masses, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The team, however, has no plans to fire Smith, according to the paper. He has two more years and about $11 million left on his contract and Bears owner Virginia McCaskey cannot afford to be paying Smith to not do a job while simultaneously paying someone else $6 million to do the job Smith was supposed to do.
So feel free to exercise your First Amendment rights, Bears fans, but don't expect anything to change for a few years.

going to get. However I come from a small school in the suburbs of chicago I was a leyden eagle and wouldn't
you know a very popular coach out there played running back for this very school. So I say bring on the Return of
Mike Shanahan to chicago as the new head coach and reunion of Mike and Jay Cutler. But that's the only solution
Shanahan will draft good bring back a power running game and a couple of good running backs along with him
and will get this ball running the way that Chicago deserves to get this going.

And Lovie - since you seem to be the only one who doesn't get this - the Tampa 2 is played out. Time to change it.

We are going to have a few years of bad football ahead of us with these clowns running things. I just don't see how our team is going to magically get better. We need tooo many gaps to be filled in and not enough time or money.
It is frustrating because we have more than a hand full of talented players on this team. But for some reason we won't get the complementing pieces to the puzzle to make our team compete year after year. Think about it. We were at our best when our division was at its worst. Our players don't even seem to respect the coaches and believe in what the coaches are saying. For example. I was listening to Bears All Access and our line backing core ripped Zach Zaidman a new one. They totally be little'd him, and to me thats a lack of respect for the Team, system, and the coaching. I would have fined them if I were the coach.
Anyway, sorry I had to vent. This hurts to watch. We need a lot of help!!!!!!!!

Next year they have an opportunity to get Shanahan or Cower. Either of those coaches would be a fantastic fit in Chicago though Cower even more so because of the attitude he brings his team.
Lovie is not the right fit in Chicago and isn't living up to the standards that we expect for a Bears team.
Time to move on.
(Don't even get me started about Turner. I wouldn't have him run my pop warner team)

Can any of us imagine if we used that excuse at work?
What if you were off work for a week, came back and completely screwed up, then came back to work the next week and screwed up 100 time worse and said...ah I just didn't show up...sorry...Would that be accepted?

05-06? Are you kidding me. Yes we did get to the big game. Because of Lovie? NO!
Our D was pretty much at the top of its game. (as the Colts exposed out bad secondary)
That year was a fluke. Our division sucked. The second best team. the Packers were 8-8 and they beat the 3-13 Lions twice. We had a very easy schedule which lead to a bye week in the playoffs and Home field advantage. God forbid we played the Eagles that year. Doesn't matter now cause that didn't happen.
You sound like the Bears whole staff. "Well we made it to the Super Bowl. We'll go from there" These coaches and players all have the ability to watch as much film as they need. They can't see that they are getting owned. Just wait it is going to get better as our competition gets better. Maybe then you can come off of cloud "06". Looking back that year gave me a bunch of False hope for the future.
Now we finally have our franchise QB and we are going to bury him.
So Kevin you insult the "suburbanites" but look at things in a closed minded manner. This team has always done this. They will set short term goals and are content with there sub par accomplishments, not doing anything for the future. A good example of a team doing this would be the Phillies picking up Cliff Lee down the stretch. We never make these kind of moves. Its usually the Chicago way Kevin Jones, Milton Bradley, Bartlo Colon, Hell I can go on all day. The only team in this town with any real stones are the Blackhawks, Why? Well different management. Later All this Cutler deal did was save a few jobs for some bad personal. You have to be able to look at your team and give constructive criticism when needed. Now Is The Time.

Fact of the matter is this team has alot more wrong with it than just the coaching, and thats a very very scary thought.

There are a lot of coaches who will be in trouble, or be in trouble, by seasons end. That's the time to judge Lovie Smith. As long as the players play hard for Lovie, he should be fine.
