NFL - Scoop Du Jour

The Arizona Cardinals are shopping quarterback Matt Leinart(notes), who probably has more grumbles this preseason than actual snaps of the football. The Arizona Republic is reporting that the team is considering two other options: keep Leinart as a backup to Derek Anderson(notes) or cut him by Saturday when rosters need to go from 75 to 53.

"Rumors run rampant, and I have nothing to add to that," coach Ken Whisenhunt told the paper. "There is a lot of speculation by a number of different people. As far as where we are, nothing has changed."

Whisenhunt said he plans to play Leinart in the team's final preseason game against the Washington Redskins Thursday evening.

The Republic also notes that right guard Reggie Wells(notes) is on the trading block.
