NFL - Sports Rumors

“AndyEagles coach Andy Reid has got three sons. Two of them you could say have been trouble. Both have spent time in the slammer. One of them, a drug dealer, slammed his car into another back in 2007 while he was enjoying a little heroin. The other one pointed a handgun at a fellow driver when the two squared off over something.

Having these guys in his life, Reid apparently has first-hand knowledge of how people can turn their lives around and this supposedly helped him to push for the signing of Michael Vick(notes), according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I'm a believer that as long as people go through the right process, they deserve a second chance," Reid told the paper. "Michael has done that."

Sorry, Andy, but that's not going to stop the good folks of Philadelphia from laying a bunch of boos on your doorstep. And you can be sure Donovan McNabb(notes) didn't jump for joy when he heard the news, either.

McNabb embraced the decision idiot. He deserves another chance. He has paid his debt to society. I for one am looking forward to seeing him play.

If all the bleeding heart liberals would just get past themselves ,
then they'd realize what everyone else knows. Vick never killed the dogs. He only pleaded guilty
for a lesser sentence after the others took a plea deal because they were the ones who killed the dogs.
It's great to see him back in the league , I just wished he would have landed here in Carolina.

Vick will get some reps in Philly before he moves on to another team next year. Philly only gave him the chance because it didn't look like anyone else would. Once he shows he has changed, other teams will be interested.

I am just happy Vick ended up in a loving, caring city where culture is embraced and poor behavior is not the norm. The history of the forgiving Eagles fans is unquestioned. This a match made in heaven.

The person that wrote this article used the term " the good folks of Philadelphia " ...are u kidding me?
Good folks of Philadelphia? Do ya mean the same folks who pee at their seats during the game?
Do ya mean the same folks that fight so much that they have a jail under the stadium?....lol
I know what I'm saying , I've been there twice and will never go back..neither will most other teams fans.

Actually Mcnabb was interviewed after the game and he said "I was one of the people pulling for Vick to come to Philly". The are friends and Mcnabb knows he just needs a chance any where to get his career rolling again.

Michael Vick wont play QB. He will be a special teams player. An all purpose player. Maybe have him return punts, receiver, running back. Trick plays or wild cat plays.
Michael Vick is a horrible QB, always has and always will be. He's a great scrambler and athelete but not a QB. AJ feely is a more competent back up.
Also Michael Vick did kill the dogs and ordered killings of the dogs. Testimony states he was the most brutal to the dogs. Look on the bright side. Michael Vick is gona be suspended PROBABLY the first 6 weeks. He's not in football shape. Even if McNabb did go down for what ever reason Vick is the 4th string QB probably. I don't expect him to play any QBing....even if its a blow out.

How sick is that! Did no one watch the documentary about the dogs removed from his property? This idiot is only teaching his kids they can do whatever they want and still get rich. NFL is all a bunch of bottom feeders!

Really? I mean REALLY? I see someone posted that Poor Michael Vick never KILLED the dogs, therefore he only plead guilty for a lesser sentance - GOD, some people really are pathetic....HE WAS GUILTY AS SIN..HE DID OWN THE DOGS, did you see the condition they were in?? ANYONE that can do that to a dog has SOMETHING MISSING in them - they are not capable of COMPASSION, though I'm sure he can FAKE IT as an end to his means. Don't think he didn't KNOW what was going on - he did! I hope that any EAGLES fan that has ever known the love of a dog can STAND UP and choose another team as one they would be PROUD To support - not a team that supports DOG KILLER like VIck!! I'm sorry - he may have been an EXCELLENT football player but he sucks as a human being. Are we really that blind to those kind of things all in the name of FOOTBALL?????

PRC, no need to bring up the same old drivel about your Philly hate. you went to one or two games and had a bad time, we get it we get it. I have gone to several other cities to watch all kinds of sports games (MLB, NHL, NFL, etc)...and there are always a bunch of drunk dirt bags who would rather talk crap and start fights than watch the game. The VET is no longer being used (time to let it go), and there are a TON of great Philly fans, you did not meet them all.
    .
Vick is a big gamble, way bigger than the gamble the Flyers are taking with Emery.

PRC- I couldn't disagree with you more then I usually do. Not for one moment do I think "bleeding heart liberals" have anything to do with public discourse regarding Vick. If your telling me that conservative republicans aren't animal lovers or dog owners then I'd be the first one to tell you your full of #$%^. First and foremost he LIED about his involvement in the dogfighting scheme, he had multiple opportunities to come forth and chose not too, a certain mistake on his part. Michael Vick has no one to blame but himself, blaming bleeding heart liberals is nothing more then an excuse. When your in the public eye and hang around with hoodlums financing dog fighting schemes then your puttng yourself in a position to have bad things happen. And they did.

This is bigger than athletic ability or winning and losing. Have NFL players and coaches completely forgotten that they are significant role models for today's youth? Andy Reid's sons are what they are because he failed to raise them. Winning is more important. Michael Vick did not make a "mistake". He made a choice. Now he needs to be man enough to live with that. Reid cares nothing about change or second chances. He wants to win at all cost.

#3 What everyone else knows? Just so you know...if you work for me and I tell you to do something or know you did something and go along Im guilty under Federal law and state law for what you did. Period. So your little fairy tale is a fairy tale.If your logic is correct who got the most time ? Vic took the deal. The deal was the deal. He could have been charged with JFK and done it but the deal was the deal. Lawyer talk. Deal with it. Everyone is missing the point. This is a 1.6 million insurance policy on McChoke. He has a boo boo injury or a bad or stupid game
" What its a tie ???" and look whos ready to take his place and who by the way do you think runs faster ? McChoke or Vick ? Can you say Randall Cunningham ? Just give this a few medicore McChoke games and wait til you see Philly fans sharpenng their knives especially if Vic makes a few good plays and Fatso says they didnt get Vick to sit him down. McChoke just got a contract extension and boohooed about that. McChoke wanted all the weapons ? Now he got the secret weapon. Lets see how long he lasts. If Vick shines McChoke will be gone. And that is long overdue.

Mary J - I want to be the first to commend you for doing what is right! I know it's hard to have followed a team and give them your full support only to be disappointed by them enough to drop them! I can't believe that people think what Vick has done is "ok" - that he's "done his time". I can ALMOST...I said ALMOST understand if he was broke and didn't know any better when he was "fighting" the dogs - but that CLEARLY was not the case - he was LOADED, had all kinds of endorsements - the money was coming in left and right! The only thing learned here is that you can treat animals ANY way you want and you will be forgiven. Does anyone know anything about psychology? The sociopaths and killers are ALWAYS the ones that think treating animals in such a dispicable manner is ok - CAN THIS MAN REALLY BE TRUSTED???? I'm so disappointed in society as a whole right now. Is this really what we are coming to? The same people that think this is ok are probably the same ones that think you can take things that aren't yours as long as "you don't get caught" - that cheating is ok, "as long as you don't get caught" - ANYONE that supports him really needs to take a good hard look at themselves and try to figure out just what they are MISSING INSIDE!!!

Vick's return to the NFL is a fine example of why professional players of all sports think they are above reproach when they are convicted of something and that money can buy them out of it. I know, I live in St. Louis and we have much worse than Vick playing for the Rams and laughing all the way to the bank........what a mockery for young athletes to look up to these type of people.........

I agree with you theinflatinator91 100%. For all the Vick haters who will post here. I ask you to put your father, mother, sister, son, daughter, yurself, whoever in his shoes. He served his time, he's serving his suspension and now he is back to work. I don't see the issue. What I do see is the negative thinking that the majority of this country uses to get by day to day. I have never been in the position but if I were to have the choice of being judged by 12 of the people I've read posting comments or to be carried by 6 of my loved ones, 6 it will be.
The humane society kills hundreds of dogs daily and by law it's ok (I own 2 by the way), slaughter houses crack cows in the head to give us beef and it's ok (yet in some places they are worshipped as gods), we eat meat on the regular (in some countries dogs are a main course) yet this man lost over 100 million dollars from killing HIS dogs and they could'nt understand why he smoked weed at his trail. You would too after losing 100 mil LOL!
The media goes too far, people are way too childish, the laws are tweaked on the wrong side a little, and this countries negative reaction shows / proves a ton. I pray his actions of the field speak louder than the oppositions words. Every team that didn't consider Vick should be sued for discrimination. The commish is the Boss of the company and the teams are departments. The GM's are the managers and the Boss didn't fire him, only suspended him. He should have been taken back by the majority. Past experience and the man steps out of prison runnin a 4.4 40. I'm done!!!
