The New York Giants can fine receiver Plaxico Burress for refusing to take the field during minicamp, and at least one teammate is frustrated by his decision to negotiate a bigger contract by watching from the sideline the New York Times reported.
"I just think there's a right way and a wrong way to do things," center Shaun O'Hara said. "I think we proved it last year that the team-first concept overcomes everything," he added. "Whether players like it or not, the team is going to move forward. You're either with us or against us."
Burress and tight end Jeremy Shockey continued their protests Thursday, the second day of the mandatory three-day camp at Giants Stadium. Burress, who has three years left on a six-year contract, said Wednesday that he would not practice again until he received a more lucrative deal. He stood on the sideline Thursday wearing his jersey and holding his helmet. NFL players can be fined up to $8,638 per day for missing minicamp, and the Giants said that they could fine Burress for refusing to practice, despite being present. The team declined to say if it was fining Burress.
Shockey, not cleared to practice because of last season's ankle injury, remained indoors, despite Coach Tom Coughlin's wishes that he watch practice as other injured players did. Shockey has not spoken with the news media this week, but has long been frustrated by his role with the team — too much blocking, not enough pass catching, in his mind — and asked to be traded this off-season.

I wish I could "hold out" at my job, I'd be fired in a second, and there would be someone there to replace me in a minute.

One other thing about Rosenhaus - most of his clients come from the University of Miami (Started with Sapp, many years ago). It's kind of hard to not draft a kid from the U, given their history of NFL excellence (at least 1 first round draft pick for the last 6 drafts) for the past 20+ years.

Still waiting for the guy to sign a contract, have a down year, and come back to management and say, "Hey, I didn't perfom as well as I should've, let me knock of a couple million on this contract"

Half the teams in the league could have beaten them on that day.
