Losman aggravated a sore thumb in Sunday's preseason win over the Colts -- an injury that has bothered him a bit in training camp -- but said after the game the injury is not a problem, The Buffalo News reports.
Recommendation: Losman is having a strong preseason -- 24 completions in 33 attempts for 200 yards (73 percent) -- and the Bills have all the confidence in the world in him as a backup. Although he's not happy with that role, Losman has been a good citizen all summer and has taken to the new offense. In truth, he's probably about as good as Trent Edwards, but Edwards is the future of the team and Losman will be a free agent after the 2008 season.

The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills QB J.P. Losman (hand) started the team's preseason game Sunday, Aug. 24. Losman was 13-for-19 for 108 yards in the game before leaving with a hand injury. Losman appeared to injure the hand on a handoff and had it wrapped in ice at halftime.

Losman is expected to start for the Bills on Sunday night in their preseason matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
Advice: Losman will take the snaps after starting quarterback Trent Edwards missed his third straight practice Friday since knocking knees in a collision with running back Marshawn Lynch on Tuesday night. Losman completed 111 passes and totaled four touchdowns and 1,204 yards, while starting seven of eight games for the Bills in 2007.
