NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is reportedly leaning toward suspending Burress indefinitely, Yahoo.com reports. Recommendation: Burress’ case on the gun charges he faces has progressed slowly, but that may not keep him from facing NFL discipline even before that plays out. Until there's more clarity to the situation, he's nothing more than a late round fantasy dart. |

WR Plaxico Burress is receiving interest from five teams, agent Drew Rosenhaus said on his Twitter page. Rosenhaus didn't disclosed the teams, but the Jets, Bucs and Bears are among those believed to be consisering the troubled star. Burress already comes with a buyer beware tag. But former teammate Tim Hasselbeck emboldened that warning to potential suitors of the free agent with a with a possible prison sentence looming, since the law in New York City carries with it a "mandatory" sentence of three-and-a-half to five years in the slammer.
"I played with the guy for two years," Hasselbeck said on ESPN. "He's a disaster as a teammate and a disaster as a guy you have to coach. And what do I mean by that? If you want to wait for a guy to show up to meetings, if you want to have to beg a guy to run full speed in practice, if you want a guy who will disappear in games because he doesn't get the ball early, then look, Plaxico is your guy. But if you don't want those distractions and you don't want to deal with the other headaches that come along with Plaxico Burress, then you better stay away." |
