    The NFL announced their compensatory picks for the 2017 NFL Draft, which means the New England Patriots know when they’ll be picking for all of their selections. During the compensatory pick assignment, the Patriots received a fifth-round pick (No. 185) for their 2016 offseason where they lost Tavon Wilson and Akiem Hicks and signed Chris Long and Shea McClellin.     Civil lawsuit against Pouncey twins set for trial on March 6

    At a time when their former Florida teammate is facing a much more serious criminal trial, NFL offensive lineman Maurkice and Mike Pouncey soon will be standing trial in a civil case arising from a 2014 brawl at their birthday party. Per multiple reports, the trial against the twins starts on March 6 in Miami-Dade County. The case brought by Ricquan James and Niya Pickett claims that the Pounceys  and their security team beat the plaintiffs and subjected them to homophobic slurs.     Former Jets DT Scott Mersereau charged with child cruelty

    Scott Mersereau has not played in the NFL since 1993, but his name is back in the news. The former Jets defensive tackle was reportedly arrested and charged with child cruelty after he allegedly pushed and punched a 15-year-old after accusing the teenager of egging his home. The boy denied the accusation, which caused the argument to escalate. After Mersereau was cursed by the teen, he shoved him in the chest with both hands and proceeded to punch him in the face and the back of the head with a closed fist. There were several witnesses to the incident and the victim was taken to West Boca Medical Center for further medical attention. Upon the arrival of the police, Mersereau was reportedly belligerent
