Top Five NFC Teams with the Most Wins Since 2006: NFL Fan

Top five NFC teams since 2006

Over the last five years, the AFC has garnered most of the national media attention. However, NFC teams did win three Super Bowls since 2006. And as a diehard fan of the New Orleans Saints, I have seen the Black and Gold rise to never before seen heights in the last five years. Take a closer look at the top five NFC teams with the most wins over the last five years since 2006.

3. (tie) Dallas Cowboys: 48-32

Since 2006, the Dallas Cowboys have come very close to breaking through in the NFC and returning to their recent glory. But despite racking up 48 regular season wins since 2006, the Cowboys only have one win in the NFC playoffs over the last five years. The Cowboys did win the NFC East twice and qualified for the NFC playoffs three times in the last five years since 2006.

3. (tie) Green Bay Packers: 48-32

Following the 2010 season, the Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl XLV. And Aaron Rogers has definitively proven that he is more than a suitable replacement for Brett Favre(notes). The sixth seed in the NFC went 3-0 in the NFC playoffs before winning the Super Bowl. Since 2006, the Packers have one NFC North crown and have made three trips to the NFC playoffs in the last five years.

3. (tie) New York Giants: 48-32

Since 2006, the New York Giants have had five non-losing seasons. And in the last five years, they have made three trips to the NFC playoffs to go along with one NFC East title. However, the Giants are most famous for their remarkable accomplishment in picking up the win in Super Bowl XLII over the undefeated New England Patriots. For years to come, NFL fans will remember David Tyree's(notes) incredible helmet catch on the Giants' game-winning drive.

2. Philadelphia Eagles: 48-31-1

Over the last five years, the Philadelphia Eagles have been a model of consistency under head coach Andy Reid. Since 2006, the Eagles have also had no losing seasons in addition to four NFC playoff appearances. Philadelphia also has three NFC East division championships since 2006. And if Donovan McNabb(notes) knew that NFL games could end in a tie, he may have played with more urgency against the Bengals in 2008 and notched another win.

1. New Orleans Saints: 49-31

After years and years of suffering as a Saints fan, I never dreamed I would make the following statement. The New Orleans Saints have the most regular season wins over the last five years of any NFC team. When Sean Payton and Drew Brees(notes) arrived in 2006, the New Orleans Saints quickly established a winning tradition after years of losing.

Since 2006, the New Orleans Saints have made three trips to the NFC playoffs, won two NFC South titles, made two trips to the NFC Championship game and were victorious in Super Bowl XLIV. It has finally happened. The New Orleans Saints are winners!
