Top 5 Sean Payton Anagrams: Fan’s Opinion

Sean Payton anagrams

As a New Orleans resident, I can't go far without finding someone selling "Free Sean Payton" t-shirts. Although this slogan has caught on with New Orleans Saints fans, I've discovered quite a few appropriate slogans just by rearranging the letters in Sean Payton.

My Bachelor's Degree from Tulane University is in Mathematics so I was able to calculate the number of ways "Sean Payton" can be rewritten. In math, anagrams are called "distinguishable permutations" and the letters in Sean Payton can be rearranged 907,200 ways. Take a closer look at the top five Sean Payton anagrams.

5. No ESPY, a tan

Given that Sean Payton has been suspended for a year for allowing a bounty program to exist in New Orleans, I seriously doubt that he'll be in the running to win an ESPY in 2012. However, since he won't be watching New Orleans Saints film all day, Sean Payton should have time to get a tan this year.

4. Easy nap not

You'd think with all the free time he's going to have in 2012 that Sean Payton will be able to relax this year. However, he will presumably be returning to New Orleans in 2013 so he still has a vested interest in the Saints' fortunes. I have a feeling Sean Payton won't have many easy naps during the 2012 Saints season.

3. Snap any toe

In Gregg Williams' fiery speech prior to the Saints playoff game versus the San Francisco 49ers we heard references to killing the head and testing ACL injuries. However, there were no references to New Orleans players snapping any toes. That must be in another part of the NFL's 5,000 pages of evidence.

2. Tape annoys

For different reasons, both Saints fans and other NFL fans are annoyed by the infamous Gregg Williams audio tape. Saints fans are annoyed because speeches like this occur in every NFL locker room. Other NFL fans are annoyed because they hate the Saints. But Sean Payton is probably annoyed more than anyone.

1. Pats, anyone?

Among the many reasons why New Orleans fans believe Sean Payton's punishment is too severe is that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was not suspended for his role in spygate. Payton is suspended for a season and Belichick didn't even miss one game. "Pats, anyone?" is clearly the best Sean Payton anagram.

Patrick Michael lives in New Orleans and has always been a big fan of the New Orleans Saints. Patrick's favorite Saints season was 2009 when New Orleans won Super Bowl 44.
