Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow Great Combination for the Denver Broncos: Fan Perspective

As you have probably heard, the Indianapolis Colts have released QB Peyton Manning and he is a free agent. This of course is drawing the attention of many NFL teams in need of a QB. Despite the Denver Broncos having QB Tim Tebow, they are showing an interest in acquiring Manning. As a fan of both the Broncos and Tebow, I have to say this could be a great thing for the team; however, there are still some questions.

There is no doubt that Manning is an amazing QB and one of the greatest to play the game. However, that neck injury and his ability to still play raise a lot of flags. Can he still throw the ball? Can he really return to the field and play like he used to or is retirement near? These are questions that no one really knows the answer to yet. The thing is, even if Manning cannot get back in the game like he used to, he could still offer so much to the Broncos and Tebow.

When it comes to the Broncos and the fans, Tebow is definitely strong in the heart of most. Last season fans put up billboards to demand he be put in the game. Tebow rallied the team and led numerous comeback wins to take the Broncos to the playoffs. However, this was only his first year as a starter and he didn't even get a full season. He still has a lot to work on. His passing mechanics and his ability to read the defense need work.

So, what better person to come in and mentor Tebow than Manning? And Manning has always been a fan of Tebow. I was doing some searching and found an old article from The Gainesville Sun where Manning talked about Tebow at the Super Bowl Media Day back on February 2, 2010. Manning stated, "Any NFL team would be lucky to have Tim Tebow. I think about all the problems we've had on third-and-1 and fourth-and-1. He was probably 100 percent in his college career at converting those."

Obviously Manning saw potential in Tebow back before he was even drafted. Having Manning join the Broncos (even if it places Tebow on the bench) could be the best thing for Tebow in the long run. Let's face it, Kyle Orton wasn't exactly the best QB for Tebow to learn under and being able to follow in the shadow of Manning may just give him the help he needs to become a great NFL QB.

Will the Broncos be able to bring Manning on board? No one knows at this point. But I definitely think it is something the Broncos and the fans need to consider.
