Rob Lowe Predicts Peyton Manning’s Retirement and Other News: Fan’s Reaction

If you follow football or Twitter, you have probably heard that Rob Lowe is apparently the new NFL insider after he tweeted on January 18th that his sources were saying Indianapolis Colts Peyton Manning was retiring. This news of course lit Twitter up and rumors were flying all over the place. Manning's father quickly tweeted that as far as he knew his son was not retiring from football.

Of course I have to ask why someone would even believe a statement like that coming from Rob Lowe anyway. While this was of course interesting and entertaining news, I have found the tweets to follow much more entertaining. According to many tweets right now, Rob Lowe knows all when it comes to sports, politics and just about everything really. He obviously has friends in high places. Here are a few examples.

@BonnieBernstein tweeted, "The #Giants say Eli Manning will be back at practice today after being sidelined yest w a stomach bug. Rob Lowe has confirmed."

@FauxJohnMadden tweeted, "BREAKING: Rob Lowe reports AFC Champion to meet NFC Champion in Super Bowl."

@KingNeckbeard tweeted, "That's pretty awesome that Peyton let Rob Lowe break the news of his retirement… When I'm ready to retire, I'm going with Emilio Estevez"

@drewmagary tweeted, "ESPN IS NOW REPORTING THAT JAY GLAZER IS REPORTING THAT ROB LOWE IS REPORTING THAT PEYTON MANNING IS DEAD."

Not only does Rob Lowe know football, but according to some he must have insiders in the NBA as well. @Gietz24 tweets out, "Hey @Rob Lowe, is Lebron gonna play tonight?"

Apparently Lowe is an insider when it comes to politics too. @Rosenberg_Mike tweeted, "I won't believe Rick Perry is dropping out of the race until I hear it from Rob Lowe."

Of course, January 18th was also the day when many websites, such as Wikipedia, blacked out to strike against SOPA and internet censorship. @NotBillWalton tweeted this, "LOOK WHAT YOU DID, WIKIPEDIA!! Since you decided to blackout your site, the world is now turning to Rob Lowe for its information. #Mayan2012"

But, the best tweet regarding this whole incident came from Lowe's own son Matthew. He tweeted, "@RobLowe It's okay dad, Johnny and I still love you even if you did stir up the twittersphere… even on the blackout. #SOPA #Faceplam"

So, forget the analysts and experts. Let's ask Rob Lowe who is going to win the Super Bowl this year. Since Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow turned down CBS when they asked him to join the crew for the AFC Championship game, maybe they could ask Lowe instead. I am sure all his inside knowledge would help increase the ratings as much as Tebow. Well, maybe not.
