Redskins OT Jansen suffers dislocated ankle

LANDOVER, MARYLAND (TICKER) Washington Redskins offensive tackle Jon Jansen suffered a dislocated right ankle in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

Jansen suffered the injury on a play in which quarterback Jason Campbell was sacked. Jansen had to be carted off the field with 12:14 remaining in the first half.

According to the team’s web site, surgery is likely and Jansen could be out for the year.

In his ninth season, Jansen started all 16 games for the Redskins last year at right tackle.

“There is nobody who had better preparation for this year,” Redskins coach Joe Gibbs said. “He worked extremely hard.”
