Patriots name O’Brien special teams coach

FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts (Ticker)—The New England Patriots on Tuesday named Scott O’Brien as their new special teams coach.

O’Brien replaces Brad Seely, who had been the club’s special teams coach for the last 10 seasons but left in order to take the same job with the Cleveland Browns.

O’Brien spent the last two seasons as the special teams coordinator for the Denver Broncos. He also served as special teams coach on current Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s staff with the Browns from 1991-95.

The Patriots also named Bill O’Brien quarterbacks coach and Josh Boyer defensive backs coach.
