Jets letting go of Woody and Jenkins
NEW YORK (AP) —The New York Jets are trimming some salary and some veterans from their roster.
The 33-year-old Woody just finished his third season with the Jets and his 12th in the NFL. He had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in December.
The 31-year-old Jenkins, acquired by the Jets in 2008, has missed most of the last two seasons with major knee injuries.
The Daily News first reported the moves and also reported veteran defensive end Jason Taylor(notes), who signed with the Jets before last season, and 2009 first-round draft choice Vernon Gholston(notes) will be let go by the team
By parting ways with the four players, the Jets could save about $10 million dollars.
