Dolphins sign S Crocker

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (Ticker) - The Miami Dolphins on Monday signed safety Chris Crocker to a one-year contract.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Tony Paige, the agent for Crocker, told the Sun-Sentinel that the deal was worth $1.15 million with $300,000 guaranteed.

Crocker, who started every game for the Atlanta Falcons the past two seasons, fills a position of need for Miami. The team used nine different players at safety last season.

Last campaign, the 28-year-old Crocker had a career-high three interceptions to go with 55 tackles and one sack.

A third-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2003, he has started 52 games in five seasons with the Browns and Falcons, registering seven interceptions and six sacks.
