Cardinals CB Rodgers-Cromartie injured
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA (TICKER) —Arizona Cardinals rookie cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was carted off the practice field after suffering a sprained right ankle on Tuesday.
The 16th overall pick of April’s draft, Rodgers-Cromartie suffered the injury midway through practice and was taken for X-rays.
The Cardinals are moving Antrel Rolle to safety, so the 6-2, 182-pound Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to contribute right away.
The former track star held out for the first two days of training camp before signing a six-year deal on July 25. A cousin of San Diego Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie, Rodgers-Cromartie was a two-time All-American at Tennessee State.
