Rams Could Have New Owner Option Not Named Rush

  • Print

There was a stir around the St. Louis Rams a few weeks ago when Rush Limbaugh was part of a group that was considering making a bid to purchase the team.

Now there are rumors that a new name is becoming an option, and he already has associations with football. Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that Texas billionaire Gerald J. Ford is interested in buying the team. The story was first reported by Charlie Casserly on CBS.

Ford is worth $1.35 billion, ranking 289th on Forbes’ latest rankings of the richest people in the world. Ford already has an involvement with football in his native state of Texas. SMU’s football team plays in Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

Sounds like all of you are standing in a pile of s_ _ t and don't even know it. Talking about someone's mother is tantamont begging to get your ass whooped in my book. But it is easy to be a big man when all you have to do push a few buttons and know that no one is going to hurt you. Most of you guys are typical of a dog that barks a lot but tucks his tail and runs when it the real thing. Stick to the topic and shut up. San Antonio could surprise some people in the NFL but Jerry Jones will have no part of it. Jones has a very strong Cowboy market in S.A. and does not want to lose the $'s it makes for him.

ahhhh. Same thing empty seats. Oh by the way The Lakers and Dodgers and Angels seem to to pretty good in attendance for having " fickle fan base". Notice how the Orange County Angels had to steal the L.A. part to cash in? Cha-ching rams

Wrong. Manny went the Giambi route, and apologized. He never admitted what he did.

Also, there's a big difference between purposely depleting a team, and a team full of players getting much older and slower at the same time. One is deliberate and calculated, one is natural deterioration, inevitably leading to rebuilding.

...and the Dodgers had the best record in the National League. They should have beaten the Cardinals.

To all Dodger fans don't talk bad about Albert Puljos. He might be a Dodger soon. Lets forgive him for being on a underachieving team.

Manny was man enough to admit it. Unlike that fool Mac who still has to much pride to do the right thing. Thats why he will never be in the "Hall"

The builder of the stadium , Arnold and Ford met this weekend in Industry , they will get tax breaks and help to move the Rams back here, and the raiders will be the other team unless the deal in Escondido/Oceanside falls through.

I was hoping you would say that. Let me fill you in on the facts. Rams mangt. depleted the team on purpose knowing that Stl would overpay. When the seats started to get empty (sounds like the same thing is happening to you guys now) they made there move. God it's like ground hog day all over again. Execpt you don't have a clue. You have been educated!

It's a ridiculous argument to say LA's got a huge 'network capitol' next to New York. It didn't matter when they were there before. The seats were empty. That's what happens when a fledgling product is placed in front of the most fickle fan base in the country (world perhaps?).

And ddeltres, nice work also on being the pot that calls the kettle black. Care to make yourself look more ridiculous? Last I checked, the Dodgers were in the exact same place the Cardinals were during the World Series - watching it on the couch. On top of it, you're going to make a crack about McGwire and PHD's when the Dodgers are fielding fertility pill McGee in left field, who was clearly adversely affected by his lack of 'roids the entire second half of the season, into the playoffs.

Have fun with the Jaguars, LA. - until they move away after 10 years. You deserve that, and them.

P.S. tell mark mcguire I said high, I mean Hi!
