Colts CB Jackson Blows Out Knee; Season Over
Indianapolis Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson(notes) will miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee during practice on Wednesday, SN correspondent Mike Chappell reports. Jackson (right) confirmed media reports of the injury, the second time in 12 months he has blown out a knee.
He tore two ligaments in his right knee last October and had offseason surgery.
Jackson missed the past three games after injuring his left knee in Oct. 4's game against Seattle.
It's the latest blow to the Colts' defense, coming a day after the team played linebacker Tyjuan Hagler(notes) on injured reserve with a ruptured biceps.
—> The Colts also might be without safety Bob Sanders(notes) this week when the play host to the Texans. Sanders, who missed the season's first five games in rehab from offseason surgery on his right knee, injured an elbow last week against 49ers.
Sanders missed practice Thursday, the second consecutive day he sat out because of the bum elbow. Chappell, writing in the Indianapolis Star, says Sanders finished the 49ers game, but the injury flared up later.
With Sanders questionable for the Texans game, Melvin Bullett is likely to return to the starting lineup.
The Colts remain without wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez(notes), who injured his right knee in the season opener. Gonzalez has not played or practiced since then, Chappell says.

As for Jackson, the Colts have two other rookie CBs that have been filling in nicely this season. So long as we get Kelvin Hayden back on a more permanent basis (Let the guys get healthy before playing them!), the Colts' secondary is going to be just fine.
